Wrong. K04 on niki's rollers made a GENUINE 304bhp. This was with less boost than stage 2. So this will mean the turbo life will be extended. I dont get why your not convinced. Still plentey left in the car also.

Martin how is the turbo now, rebuilt yet?

Sam this has only just happened. Look when this comment was posted. At this point there were no clear results on whether much more can be achieved on the standard KO4. Yes on a hybrid it was but not a standard KO4 which is what most of us are running and will continue to run

I prefer the equal length design of this one but its longevity I'm thinking about now. What's the quality like of these manifolds? compared to the JBS one Bills got in.

Sam - I understand you will be defensive on these as you are the person selling them and promoting them all over the show..... However, you need to take into account this is a mod which is going to push people's cars that bit more, and I think it is 100% fair for me, guys like EL and RDS to be patient and see how the manifold holds up over time.... As the seller you should expect this from potential buyers :)

Relentless mani's have had poor build/fit/crack issues in the past so obviously people who have a brain working will be cautious about this. I have no doubt the design makes for more power on the standard k04. I know the standard one is restrictive, BUT it's reliable and proven. That is all some of us want to see ;) Longevity is key ;)

Dans actuator was proper fooked, he could not hit 20psi, i was there when he had the map done. Now he has a new actuator fitted and hitting 30psi, 50% more boost than before. His car became the highest bhp figure at bills with a fooked actuator, this is a great achivement in its self. He now also has a proper fmic like mine, im sure he will be close if not higher than 300 at bills. 285 at bills will be over 300 at amd as proven this week so you cannot compare results from the two dynos.

Let's not bash rollers' again Sam..

Yes wellys s3 I believe

A small quote from the b5 section.

2 things here.......
Relentless I know has worked well on hybrid... nothing to prove in performance terms for me.. BUT, and this remains a big BUT in my mind..........

Longevity and consistency of quality & fitment

The JBS manifold is more likely to be more reliable long term as my gut feel.

The unknown for me, is performance gain.. hence the test.

back to back tests would be lovely if I had time....... which I just dont have I'm afraid.. Such testing takes time away from customers work, which @ the end of the day pays the bills.
I will not ever be personally selling the Relentless manifolds..... I would sell the JBS ones however.. which is a big clue as to which one I would have more confidence in reliability wise.
In absolute performance terms, I do quite like the merge collector pseudo equal length design of the relentless type manifold.. Its the unknown re quality of supply (consistently) and reliability long term which I cant answer. Only time will tell on that score.

Unless folks want to cover the fitment & test costs I dont think I will be able to do this on the same car, whilst its here for its work. Its not my car either. The customer car in question does have a Relentless manifold now.. not fitted tho.

EDIT: sorry for crashing your thread Martin :D

Im not doubting the manifold, just doubting the unproven claims...

Got the car booked in for a Power Run at Marlin Motorsport in MK fingers crossed it gets some good figures

be happy with at least 275-280bhp

How did you get the MAF on that side of the heat shield? does the cable reach under the bottom of it?

Just a quick update -

Hybrid fitted running fantasic and the pull is immense

Wellycooler fitted and looking great

SFS Preformance DV fitted - Love the sound from this thing lol

Congrats on your hybrid mate.:)
Did you remove head to fit mani or did you fit in situ. Did any studs or heatshield need trimming.

yea after 6 long weeks turbo technics finally finished it lol,

no mate head was lift on, fitted the turbo to the mani then fitted the mani to the block, bulkhead was modified shall we say haha and yes the studs were modified a wee lil bit lol

Great update matey! :D

Sounds like the car is running sweet. Any stats on performance now she's all kitted out or too soon?
