I'm sure this has been covered a million times, but I've not found it on searching..

Can you rate the noises, if you've been in, owned or heard drive by, the noise in terms of volume out of 10 for the standard system, and cat back res and non-res. I'm only considering a cat back for now, poss sports cat/downpipe later down the line.

So, something like:

Standard - 4/10
Resonated - 5/10
Non-resonated - 8/10
Corsa with cherrybomb - 11/10

I'm after a slightly throatier sound than standard. Don't want it to stand out, don't want a lot of noise at all..

Ive got Milltek resonated....although im going back to awesome due to a rattling noise next week...

its not very loud at all, almost the same as standard, i prefer something slightly louder personally!

My little brother has an A3 and he changed his standard system for the full Milltek non-resonated. It does sound more throaty but it's not really louder than the standard system, especially when not on full throttle.

Got a miltek non res on my LCR and sounds great. Not an in you face burble like a blueflame IMO.
8/10 (wasn't 9 as tailpipe doesn't look as good as the blueflame).

So not much different to standard, but stainless and lifetime guarantee? And tailpipes in a similar style to standard?

Sounds like just what I'm after. I'm sure a sports cat would make it a bit louder and add some bhp's later?

I've got a miltek resonated system with sports cat and I feel it's too quiet.

I'm gonna buy the miltek replacement straight through pipe to make it into
a non res system.

Can anyone recommend a decat pipe? And where to get it from? I've been looking
at the THS Performance ones for the Audi s3 are they the same fitment?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I couldn't tell you mate I bought the car with the system fitted,
but compared to my Ibiza cupra with just a scorpion cat back system fitted it sounds
quiet.

That's why Im thinking of going down the decat route.

Tailpipes are similiar but have like two striaghts out and an oval tail pipe wrapped round it, personally i prefer the blue flame to it, but it came on the car :)

I have a sports cat too and downpipe as per my sig. Its a little noiser than standard but not a whole lot.
