Missing Bose Sound System?

I've just picked up my Exeo SE Tech and having checked it over I'm not sure it's got the Bose Sound System installed as it's supposed to.

According to the information sheet below (courtesy of Bose), there should be a "Digital Amplifier" installed in the right side panel of the boot however I can't see anything.

http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/Images/Bose SEAT Exeo EN_tcm6-25923.pdf

I was expecting to find the amp installed behind a blanking plate in the hollow behind the rear wheel arch and the back edge of the boot - this is where it's located in my colleague's Audi A6.

Has anyone else got anything installed in this gap? Maybe they've installed it somewhere else? Or maybe they've not installed it all?

I've got an ST SE tech and when you open the compartment on the right hand side of the boot it contains an amp. No need to remove any trim to see it.

Cheers, having looked into it a bit more - I found some pics on an Audi forum showing the Bose system attached to the upper edge of the wheel arch behind the boot trim and not in the place where I expected it to be. I was expecting one of the side compartments to be blanked off with the amp behind it so as to create an "L" shape (if you know what I mean), this is how the Bose System is installed in my friend's A6 and how I interpretted the Bose information sheet. It appears that the ST uses this "L" configuration because it houses the sub woofer inside this space, since it can't integrate it into a parcel shelf, and the A6 because it also houses the sat-nav DVD in there.

OK, I'm still confused. The Bose information says that the system has "5 channels of customised equalisation", my head unit (Media System E) only has bass and trebble and the Media System manual shows a DSP sub menu which activates settings for Audio Pilot - again this is different from my unit which has no settings for Audio Pilot at all. I'm still not convinced that the full Bose Sound System has been installed, instead I'm wondering if a cut down version has been installed as part of the Tech pack?

There's an easy way to check if you have the Bose system or not.

Turn it on .... if the sound quality is surprisingly bad, no matter what you do, then you don't have it.

With regards to the EQ, it says it has 5 channels of customised equalisation... customised as in already customised, not customisable as in you can DIY.

Are you sure that's not for the alternative GALA system ? ( speed dependent control ) Like ste8270 I didn't think the AudioPilot was controllable and the GALA menu is disabled if the vehicle has Bose. The AudioPilot works by compensating for background noise using its own microphone rather than just by speed.

Sorry - can you not just look at the speaker covers and see if they say Bose?

Thanks, the manual that came with mine appears to be different and having read this it all makes more sense.
