That head unit you've linked to won't fit into a standard rectangular double din console that earlier vehicles have ie. mk1 Leon.
Notice the curved corners and side fixing plates which were used on VAG cars after around 2005.
Thanks for the warning although I'm aware of that but i'm quite skilled on PVC handling.
So, the side metal brackets can be bend inside or cut off.
My Mk1 Leon Tdi doesnt have a one body single din. It's a 2 piece set with the oem stock radio in the middle.
In the inside just have to cut that plastic middle section. The double din radio will fit (they all measure the same).
On the outside just have to make a PVC housing and fit in the console (like a mobile cover we use to protect our phones). Et voilá.
I'll keep in mind to do a video/photo guide to post here. I'm still upgrading my halogen headlights to LED.
