WOW! just read through the hole thread. this is truly mint! weldone mate

on vortex and caddy forium
not mutch to only a dam pipe arrived today ,

so thought might as well do the rear 4wd sorted , did the service then made a quick shifter, as i could find ought else to make one with

this my friend will control my rear fluid drive haldex unit , 50/50 50/25 50/0 perfect for lauch moterway and normal driveing tested it out yesterday and really chuffed , and no ecu or can/bus outputs or abs needed

 nice.....

the "handles", are they a ........B&Q Racing item

maybe unsure what there oringly off tbh , as i couldnt find a small pool ball lol , but like anything else it dose the job nicely and saved a nice headace and money 600/800 for a haldex controller cost me 3.50 lmao ,,,

is that manually altering the haldex then ? love to see how that works - interesting - ooh what about fluid pump etc ?

by the way i have a full case of pool balls here if you want a red/yellow one :p 8 ball's gone already :p

yep it works fine i also did a bit of testing , which evern when the haldex is set to 0/and front wheels are 50percent u get get a small percent to the rears which lasts 10seconds , and when full pressure is applyed 50 rear and 50 front it lasts for 20seconds ,and the prime pump dosent need to run all the time only for a quick prime as inside the haldex the pressure relief valve keeps pressure for either approx 7/20 seconds , enoegh for a good hammering down the track lol

little video of 4wd for you too

love to see how you have it rigged up at the rear for future reference as i was told the primer pump runs constant topping up to keep it asll in check hence the expensive add on controllers - be handy if there's a manual bypass for it all for sure

superb job though and wheels rolling - nearly testing time then i guess :):clap:

This is the only build thread I have ever seen that competes with the nutter who put two vr6's in a lupo!

Highly impressive!
wow i remember seeing that read evern thow putting vrs in a lupo , putting one in the rear would be better then adding more weight and bothing engines pulling agaist each other , if id had a go at a lupo id have thown a hyabusa 1300 moterbike engine in with a turbo ,, :)

cheers flepper , hadlex is a neat idea , and all fluid controlled , little like a auto gearbox with clutch packs,i think if i tell everyone then sales would be down on custom controllers lol , but with a small bit of electrics and a 4.00 item , job can be bypast at ur own risk , as trying to run the haldex in permint 50/50 would over heat the clutch packs due to oil pressure over heat and over load load of the constant stepper moter :D

don't know if its been mentioned, what ECU is this using, is it the engines OEM ECU or is it a stand-alone ECU?
who is mapping the ECU?
ur a little off , has ive no ecu/no no standalone runing the rear haldex , best thing ive found too ,because its now manual , i can possible select 4 settings either 50/50 50/30 50/10 50/0 very simple

sorry, you may have misunderstood....
not mapping for the Haldex.... imeant mapping for the engine in general... so the engine runs to its full potential?

that's what got me, i couldn't see where/how you a lever to adjust it as i thought it was all fluid/solenoid controlled from a main pump etc

good to see it rolling though - driven it up yet ?

right i thought it was a bit strange may have mis read it wrong ,(easy done with me lol)
regards the engine , i never had the engine harness/loom or ecu so i thow a quick one togther and used a megasquirt 1 v3 standalone with wideband inovate for the tuning , as i did a bit of re search into these engines , and theres only mk3 2.8 and the mk4 2.8 12v/24v that were but with forged cranks and strong internals , as the 3.2/3/6 v6 have problems with timing chain failure and cranks snapping , plus the block walls are a lot thicker too ,
so with a good tuine these babys can handle 600bhp , as these engines were firsly built as a deisal with strong rods , then changed on the production line to petrol , long u you lower compression its all fine , i know a lot of people go to exspense in buying custon rods and pistons , but i ask myself why?as i first did a test on a mk3 2.8 vr6 stock engine and gearbox , just thow a turbo kit on it , and standalone to tune , only got to 10psi and engine compression was too high , so cut and made a headspacer to lower it to 8.5.1 ratio , totaly differnert , i got 400bhp and it blow the gearbox in 3rd gear , nice bang crunch :cartman: that was at 27psi of boost , engine had no problems at all , so after a bit of messing we thow the later 02m gearbox on it 6speed , just used 2wd , as these take 500bhp , then testing it , great short gear ratios runing 30psi of boost , all was well keeping the afr table 12.1 , the only bad thing the 02m run a crap dual mass flywheel , which dont like hp , and to convert to single mass , u need a bank lone lol , so in a word , with good tuning these are good engines for outputs in terms of power :D also the mk3 vr6 turbo was runing 215 35 18 tyres and at 100mph the tyres would hold to the road , gives u an idea the amount of torque and power they produce

yes ur right it should be lol , but now its not ,,, :) mot is friday if all goes well , then its tunieing stage time , ill start from 250 then 300 etc and see how it feels if all seems good hoping to aim for a good 450bhp , that leaves 150bhp spare lol be nice to know how it feels runing 2 wd to 4wd as this is a first attempt at somert like this , lol
