no. buy a cheap ebay cable. £10 max. then download the free version of vagcom then pay the £60 upgrade, will cost you £70 in total.
or if you use torrents download the full version for free and again just use the ebay cable.

thats how i use my vagcom with no problems. on my laptop i have the £60 upgrade version that i paid for. on my pc i have a full version i downloaded from a torrent site, both versions work perfectly.
