What have you guys managed to get out of your 2.0 8v's ?!?

I did about 500 miles over the weekend, visiting family etc, and managed to get an average 42mpg mainly due to 'driving miss daisy' on the M'ways at 70mph.

Also, managed to get 380 out of the 500 from 1 tank of fuel Very impressed!

Need to start doing 70mph on my way to/from work..... currently get 28mpg

Possible to get 42mpg in mine also! - but like you said it has to be a good run and drive like you've got royality in the back!.

20 mile round trip to and from work tends to average out in the low thirty's over the week!

i have a 16v so not much help mate but i think im always at about 26mpg yours sounds good tho! my worst was a bout 8 mpg and never goin drive like that again!!!

Got 49 mpg once. The fuel economy is always very good usually see about 44-46 mpg on the motorway and between 35-41 around town. once got 410 from a tank but i was driving like a granny

I've had over 400 miles off a tank of optimax a few times on a long motorway run.

On average i get 220 from a tank

On a good run mind i can get the magical 380-400

Hit the 400 to the tank before with the mpg reading 48 on a long run, looking at getting a 2.016v next so will need a mortgage for the fuel

not far off that in the 16v

run to blackpool and back in the fog i managed roughly 350 but it wasnt at optimum economy mode admittedly

worst i have had was 170

stickin at 70mph for that long you should see 45mpg's easy.

Between 38 and 48 Im happy with on long motorway journeys.

Normally between 30.5 and 38 to work, which is about 11 miles

Generally put £20 in, get 150miles out. Didn't get a GTI to potter around in.

6 Mile journey to work normally averages out at around 33mpg. I'm quite impressed taking into account the amounts of traffic i get living in London!
