Yeah, diff is something I NEED to buy...

Any suggestions?

Oh cool, closer than I thought then! I'm quite often in Rugby anyway.. About to start training @ a new boxing gym there too.

Nice one, I'll check out AKS now.

BakeHouse in Rugby.. I've been boxing & kickboxing for 17 years @ British level, spent 4 years as British Champion. Since moving up North I've been looking for somewhere to train out of, this looks like the best option locally! ..

Took the car on a run this morning and was rather shocked that it hit 155mph!.. From some research it looks like the FD Ratio is good for 170-173mph..

When I'm on another work test site I'll be giving that a go!

Cracked on with a few bits tonight..

After the high speed run today I thought it would be a good time to upgrade a load of stuff with parts I have sitting in the garage

Got the car in the air and ready to go!

First job was the solid gearbox mount, giving me 3 solid mounts now!

Fitted

Next I was going to fit the 312 brakes, although realised I need to drill the discs to 4x100 and also left the carriers in the Leon & the wife was out so that idea stopped there!

Decided I'll pull the wishbones off for a refurb as they didn't feel great and steering inputs where not so positive, think I found out why!

Next was the 4 bar FPR that's been sitting on my parts shelf for a couple months

Also started to cut out the holes for my aero catches & made a card template to make cutting a little easier!

I'll have these up for sale very soon if anyone wants them..

Been told they're G60 callipers.

Brembo Max discs & Yellow stuff pads. Loads of life left in both. PM me if interested

Hey dude..

should be finished??!! A car build is never finished.. Just 'ongoing' haha..

I've had it on the road quite a bit.. Covered around 1000 miles in it now. Keeps coming off the road for more upgrades tho!

Didn't go K04, went K03s as I felt a K04 would be over kill on a track with a car that isn't known for it's handling abilities! I don't want to under steer off at every corner or on boost mid corner haha!

Thanks for the comment though! It's really not too hard to build something like this.. I think you'd be surprised how easy it is if you have a few basic skills / tools.

It wouldn't be a normal weekend without an update for me lately..

Firstly, spent a load more money on ordering parts this weekend.. About £500 in total.

Losing count of how much I've spent so far!

This weeks updates are for handling mods mainly..

Firstly, 312mm brake upgrade

cd9feb07831cee5359411f7bea5d620d.jpg

New over laid.. Old discs and callipers are still fitted under there!

New vs old

I had 4mm milled off the carriers, wasn't quite enough!

f1fce68b2d3cd6f5447321ab4f26ecf2.jpg

So I had to get the grinder out!

Fitted properly after this was done.

Then after finally getting the old brake lines undone with a little heat assistance it looked like this..

Then cut the holes in my bonnet for the aero catches.. Didn't take any pics while fitting so here they are all fitted

Picked up some asap coilovers pretty cheap!

Finally,

Burn baby burn!!

Thanks Baz!

Got a few more bits done this weekend.

Firstly, wishbones where stitch welded to add a little strength

Then primed

d926198f108107dbbeb84852e9fec4ff.jpg

I thought I had some black metal paint in the garage... Could only find red.

Oh well..

Black series poly bushes fitted

2cf8e2f046f07b7040514b637bb63f06.jpg

Then went to put it all back together and noticed to fit my ball joint extenders and rose joint steering arms my hubs would need some work... I could of simply drilled them out to 12mm, although as they're originally tapered the only contact on the bolt would be towards the bottom giving it very little contact so off to the machine shop and we drew up and idea for some inverted top hats to be made and fitted.. Will get them back next week, so while waiting on that i remembered my rear boot latch rattled a lot

I had another set of aero latches laying around so fitted them..

A little while since I updated this...

So. Had my hub mods completed. Ball joint extenders, track rod end machined and a top hat bush machined up and flipped to reduce bump steer.

5677084c828091f64d3ec457648108e0.jpg

While at it I fitted new inner steering arms to freshen everything up then fitted my rose joint ends.

The difference in handling feel and steering inputs is amazing! The car feels much more balanced and stable at speed and understeer has been reduced a lot too.

ad6945284c2e6d9e67ad1be3e2a97f8e.jpg

Also took the chance to fit my new AP coilovers

56819157e634167da971aeb863bbe830.jpg

Then threw the 312 brakes on again

34f22dc134d255d92f251184f3e9ecc5.jpg

Had some of my company stickers laying around so chucked some on the car for a little free advertisement!

bfbc4112f38da9487b3ac19794f40eb4.jpg

Then brought an ITG induction kit and fitted a 4" cold air intake - currently the ducting is sitting behind the bumper, waiting on an alloy intake

3f514c30808939d5fd535686b7c3c2ea.jpg

As the picture above shows I relocated the battery to allow room for the kit to fit, while doing this I took advantage by purchasing a lightweight race battery

2eb9a330727e5eb1bb84b25ff2a554ef.jpg

Next job was to fit the black series front subframe bushes..

Step one.. BURN!

//images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/26/3195279fe3e726271e1b6d2863e36464.jpg[/IMG

Then paint and ready to fit!

[IMG]//images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/26/a90bd501cb5fc29f97d97783057289a0.jpg

Car then sat back on all 4 wheels for a couple of weeks due to a new addition to my family!

fefe424c3fd88aa66a4d8bfb2086c617.jpg

Eventually found a little time to do some of the little jobs..

FIA/MSA stickers turned up

c8f2d218a13e4a7e4c137b4bd9a917b1.jpg

Then fitted a sun visor as was getting fed up of being blinded!

bf5369f0db93f9c921256063adc7ced0.jpg

That's about it for now... Car drives so well.. Vibrates a hell of a lot due to the amount of solid mounts and bushes but it's not a road car so I don't care!

More updates to come though, had this package turn up from Bill @ Badger 5.... Any guesses what it could be?
