mk3 rear strut brace

right i am looking at getting a rear brace,
1st off do they make much diffference?
2nd does the mk2 one off strutbracer fit?
3rd i'm sure i've been told the mk1 golf rear brace fits is this right?
before i get slated i have searched! and it seens to be mostly readers rides and i cannot seem to find a definate answer

Yep they do they just bolt to the rear turrets instead of the shocks

Tom...yes they do make a difference mate, i took mine off to fit my seatsport rear shocks as my standard were fubard!! Then decided to paint it so had it off the car for a few days....i noticed it wasnt there, not an awful amount but it does make a difference
