Anothet moaner lol, I really did like my car when i first bought it and one of the reasons i bought it was supposed to be that i would have no more car trouble. But it in all honesty i have had nothing but bother from the damn thing. So far i have had top strut mount bearings, wishbone rear bushes, rear shock mounts, engine mount, window regulator, unresponsive throttle, creaking rear suspension, creaking noise that nobody can diagnose, rusting alloys, rattle in headliner, support bearing for gearbox, gearbox resealed for leak plus many noises from the interior. I have had enough now and can't wait until i can afford a better quality car next year once my apprentice wages go up lol! Its a shame the car is so shoddily put together as it is a good looking little car and is pretty nippy for a 1.4 100hp

Yer I've got rust coming through too :/
All the archs

I don't mind fixing something worth fixin eg mk3 cupra , mk4 cupra. But I can't be bothered to chuck anymore money at this

don't really know tbh, will defo be a bigger car cos i want the comfort now lol! Like the look of the Leon, but not the cheap interior. I like the old shape Astra as i had one before but it was a nightmare for probs as well but that may have been down to the fact that it was a neglected company car. It would have to be a Sri diesel version one though although i have heard many probs for the 150bhp engine.

dont know about that, i test drove an fr the other week and thought it was just as bad if not worse than mine :(

it seems to be only those who dont have an fr or cupra complaining,my cupra is great ive had a few rattles but easily enough fixed the suspension isnt always comfortable but its good compromise for great handling.

nah, mine's a Cupra; it certainly goes well, stops well and with the hybrid turbo it's well handy on the motorway - but I still feel kinda indifferent about it.

I'm in absolutley no kind of hurry to change cars but I doubt I'll miss the Ibiza when I do

Yer I fixed all my rattles and squeaks to be fair. Took me a couple if hours on a Saturday.

I can't wait for more power tho. Thinks it's because everyone I know has a quick car except me. And I wanna do some tracking :)

the rattles are so easily fixed though i know they shouldnt need fixing but they do and where they are its nice to not hear them anymore.
i must admit the ride is a bit bumpy but with that you get good handling.

yeah i have fixed all the rattles in my own car, however, there is still alot of vibration from the panels which i would say is unacceptably loud. Tbh i think there are much better built cars on the market for the same money. For example the mk6 fiesta even has a soft touch dashboard whereas the mk4 ibiza has to make do with plastic that scratches with your fingernail!

thats true the works fiesta van is an awesome little machine even though the dash shines on the windscreen in the sun dangerously with the heated screen.
your car does sound like a friday afternoon job though vibrating panels :wtf:.

Cheap interior? The MK1 and MK2 facelift interiors look very nice (especially the latter) My best friend has a facelift MK2 and the build quality is fantastic. TBH I wouldn't touch one of the astras myself but thats just me. Main reasons are they're chavvy and secondly I have heard the same about the 150hp cars and thirdly they torque steer like crazy

P.S I suppose I am a little biased :D
