Well all starts back in september 2008 when i picked this little beauty up from Bournemouth Seat with 9k on the clock and for £8995 it was mine with two previous owners, one being Seat.
Was going to do the usual re-map etc then as per usual bi the bug like most of my other previous cars, here are the pics!
Stayed like this for a couple of months then the mods came along;
First came was the re-map and with so many companies out there it was hard to choose one but after many talks i had Mark at SWICT carry it out along with a trip to Powerstation for a trip on the rollers. Put the car on the rollers to see standard power and that came back at 183bhp, then was the re-map, green cotton panel filter and the forge 007dv this then produced 211 bhp and 209 lbf.ft
Thats where the power bug started to come from. Then i said like everybody else does.......not going to do any more to it......next came the uprated disks and pads, 312mm cross drilled up front with Ap racing pads and cross drilled disks at the rear with green stuff pads. To help with vision 6000k H.I.D's were installed along with 6000k 501 sidelights.
Popped along to the GTi Spring fest up at Santa Pod and had a couple of blasts down the 1/4 mile, posting a best time of 14.7s @ a terminal speed of 92 mph which i was rather happy with.
After this came a bargain from SeatCupra.net the nomad double a pillar pod in black, retail around £90 and got it for £45 posted, so then Mark installed this along with a boost and oil temp gauge.
Had a bit of snow and then was stuck on my estate so help came in the way of Western Powers unimog, that did the trick lol
Back to the engine bay and i purchased a forge TIP and a power gasket to help keep the inlet temps down and was well worth the £50 as there is a massive difference! Cheers Jas for the drive-way fitting lol, did both in hour and a half. Next came the Jetex cone filter and a Seat Sport strut brace.
SWICT then held a rolling road day so here was my chance to see if the latest mods had improved the power, i was first on and had a poor run of 213bhp so it was decided that i would run at the end of the day agian when it was colder, changed the n75 valve for a 'c' this time and then it produced 224 bhp and 249 lbf.ft which did put a smile on my face.
Bought some 15mm hubcentric spacers of Gaz (cheers mate) so fitted them with Jas-tdi.
