Another small update
I have been quite busy with the tdi the last few days.
Firstly i changed the timing belt and fitted a metal water pump. Whilst fitting i noticed the alternator belt was missing chunks so changed that also.
I got the belt done and started building the engine bay back up:
Here are the new upper boost pipework :
The car was then started up and moved out the garage. First time being moved since December
I have finally got round to trimming the front bumper lower grill so it actually fits

After with now hidden intercooler pipe:
I then started on with the lower boost pipes (still awaiting parts)

Still more to do but hoping to get the tdi back on the road in the next 2 weeks ready for some summer fun !

Finally finished the lower intercooler pipework on Thursday.
I have now purchased my milltek downpipe from awesome gti. Should arrive Monday. I will then get it fitted and car booked in for cat back exhaust system with no silencers or backbox.

Today i recieved a parcel.
It was my Milltek decat downpipe
And this is the mismatched mess of an exhaust i had fitted previously
And where the backbox had snapped the hanger and blown at the weld
I fitted the downpipe and promptly jumped in the car and took her round the block and it has got a serious 'coo' going on. Its a very strange noise. And especially the look on peoples faces as it does it.
Im hoping to get booked in Fri / Sat for a catback to be made up

Im booked in friday to get the rest of the exhaust system made up. Will try and get a pic if i can. Will be going for a downturned tailpipe again.

Its 3 nuts on the turbo. Can be comftably got from underneath. Will help with a bit of wd40 on the studs will take less than 30 mins

I got it from http://www.autosiliconehoses.com/ as did i the rest of the hoses.
I have a 90degree rubber elbow at egr end which leads to a 45 degree metal pipe and then onto a 45 degree rubber towards intercooler

How the hell have you managed it with that? I tried for a good hour a similar setup kept fouling stuff and lost my head with it. Looking good, I bet this is a proper sleeper with the hybrid and sport looks.
Haha i did have a bit of a faff about tbh. The only place that it is very close is where the diesel filter housing is, its quite close to the 45degree hose.
Yes it does suprise and make quicker/expensive cars look quite silly

Cars just at kingswinford tyres getting a 2.5" decat pipe back, boxless and downturned pipe.
Lets hope its not too loud. Worst case will wack a silencer in it.

Yea i went boxless and to be honest its not overly loud. I was worried it was going to be hell but its ok. Still gives that 'coo' from the exhaust
Im happy with the sound now and finally have a 2.5" exhaust

Took him about 1.5hrs even with him getting called away every 10 minutes to give quotes on exhausts.
Very happy with the end result. Hardly any louder than the previous exhaust. Seems to pick up quicker. Haven't really tried the car out higher up the rev range but the blip that i did it sounded great !
I also popped into p-torque on the way back home as i am planning to get it back on the rollers to see if my cars still healthy after the few changes i have made.
