Had my Cupra TDI just coming up to 3 years now from new.

The car lives up to and meets all of my expectations.

The problems I have had:-
Rear Disks - Replaced under warranty
AP callipers going pink - replaced under warranty
Fuel pump - recalled and replaced under warranty
exhaust heat shield - replaced under warranty
rear screen wash pipe dropped off - replaced under warranty
slight misting off headlights - went away after first service?
The interior only rattles when it's cold so not really a problem

The only thing I found unnaceptable was the swirls provided gratis by the dealer when they washed my car.

So I would buy another Seat, just waiting for a MKII Leon Cupra TDI to be manufactured.

im very happy with my ibiza GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!

i would buy anouther one but i wouldnt do any engine mods i have! NIGHTMARE!

If I were to buy another car now I'd steer away from the Ibiza Mk4 if possible and take a Leon/Toledo PD130 over it due to the fact the interior of the Mk4 is so cheap and nasty.

But given the fact it only cost me £6,500 for a car in mint condition with a really good spec, power and also economical - I wouldn't like to say I'd never buy another, plus when I look at the car (Clean...) it reminds me of why I bought it again ... it's the nicest looking car I've ever had. :)

I have only had mine 2 months now and all the problems i have had are dealer related. I think the car is brillient and the only thing it has been in for is the damage to the spare wheel from the bot floor (if you have a Cupra check yours) and some rattles.

I think the dealer realy lets the SEAT name down.

Agreed. You can end up changing to another make altogether even though it mightnt be the cars fault at all . I
had a couple of things fixed under warranty like the heater blowing cold instead of hot and a faulty key which were found and fixed during a routine service and havent gone wrong since. Others arent so lucky with their dealer and some even end up having their car far worse than when it went in .
Anyway good to see most people so far have mostly good things to say about their cars :)

I've had a "few" MK4s now so I like them :)

For value, you can't go wrong really, I mean they have their problems, but so do the Polo and A2 and they were much more money! Yes the plastics are cheap and feel like recycled crap, but you get what you pay for! They handle OK (by no means the best!) but they do go well :)

Will I buy another? No, I've had enough of them now. If the new FR & Cupra are nice, I may consider them for my missus but personally I wouldn't, my sights are set higher now!

I kindof like my DAB Sport to be honest, if i got another i'd probably go for the FR/Cupra or an ecomotion i guess. Not really had any problems cept back windscreen wiper pipe popping out, not got any rattles or anything (i find the people that seem to mention the rattles, are also the people that have taken the side panels off to fit new speakers etc, and bending/breaking the clips slightly so it will rattle for evermore)

I do agree the Polo is a little more plush inside, but it also costs a hell of a lot more! (plus for some reason the insurance is more expensive, a 1.2 polo e was more expensive than a 1.4 ibiza sport)

I'm happy with it anyway :)

i have had 3 of them... i think that says enough from me going from a 1.4 Se to a 1.9 Tdi Sport then 1.9Tdi Fr.. so have had an experience :) mine dont really rattle even tho i have pulled my car appart only got one annoying one tho.. thats from the light switch that i havent touched :(

im loking into changing my mk4 1.2 to a mk4 diesel fr hopefully in the next few months.

ive had a few problems but its still the car is good value for money and better looking then the polo imo!

It's a much nicer drive than the Polo, too.

Yea tru. I like the car a lot. but the dealer service is a joke. Also i think you get more respect driveing a fast seat, rather then a polo GTI.

Only owned mine for 7 months so far (2005/55-plate) and it's been spot on: no problems whatsoever other than the tyres destroying themselves on the inner edges (or maybe that's me) plus a few minor rattles inside. Got one annoying rattle though coming from the passenger side rear 3/4 panel area.

Not had to experience a dealer's for servicing yet, although the parts department was very hit and miss: one bloke was superb but the other was bloody unhelpful when I was asking for an LCR splitter because "it's not meant for an Ibiza". And that was despite me going in with the part number in my hand...

However, wouldn't buy another mk4 as I've "been there, done that". Next car for me - in a couple of years - will probably be something totally impractical as hopefully I'll have a campervan for lugging the bikes around. Thinking latest MR2 (the girly soft top one ;) )

That sums up my opinion of them as well .They're far better value than VW or Audi which might have better materials but no more reliable really .So would I buy another Ibiza ? Very possibly, but having owned two of them over the last 11 years I just feel like a change and set my sights higher now as well . Dont want a much bigger car, but like the sound of the Audi A1 . Or a Golf. TDi, of course ! But Ive been very happy with my Ibizas.
