I have just put in my alpine single din head unit into my Ibiza. It seems so tight behind the stereo for all the wires. I can not get the lower tray to sit flush has anyone come across this before and can help me. Thanks in advance

Spent hours fitting my Alpine too, complete nightmare, cut through the thin plastic behind it and keep the lower tray out to mess about with the wires. It is ridiculous was getting very pissed off with it never taking it out again! I put mine back in the upper tray as there way more room for the wires, doesn't help when you have sub and amp cables plugged in the back like I do. Keep trying!

i came across this problem when I fitted my Alpine, the lower tray was much furthur out and the head unit was swallowed up in the dash!

A trip down to my local audio shop and they fitted a spacer (never knew these existed), its a bit of plastic that sits behind the cage to bring it forward. It now fits pretty snug.

Pretty much what aimez says - I cut "into" and slightly "modified" the plastic bit with a dremel thingy, I also moved mine down from the top bay so i can use the cup holder without loosing the ability to control the volume on the stereo! the tray can go in the top easily, just turn it upside down.

Don't cut through the think plastic bar it's kind a main structure behind the dash I think! I had my old headunit in the bottom slot for the cup holder reason but then got a new Alpine last year and it seriously wouldn't fit down there again with the damn phono leads of doom!
