mk5 Golf wing mirror retrofit

Has anyone tried doing the above? I really like the look of having the side indicators on the wing mirrors and leaving the body smooth. Just thoughts at the moment but I was of the impression that they would just slot into place...

I think when I seen it, it was on a polo
