Mine has arrived at the dealers and is being delivered next week. Mine was supposed to have a build week of 24. I've asked Seat to tell me if it's got the Pioneer or the original - so I'll let you know when I hear.

What build week did you have Larfingboy?

it actually got built in week 25 - but the SLI code always showed the original unit not the pioneer replacement.

What was confusing is the UK Exeo product manager said all exeos would have the pioneer unit for the foreseeable future.

Trying to get my head around playing music v sat nav. So, if you want to play a cd you cant have the sat nav cos the maps are on the DVD disc. SO, can you copy the sat nav to SD card and it will know to get the sat nav data from there?? - how big a SD card do I need to put the nav data on?

No I'm afraid you can't. Best thing is to put all your music on an SD card ( in mp3 format ) and then just leave the DVD drive with the Nav DVD in it. The system can navigate directories on the SD card and display track names so using the SD card is MUCH better than even the IPOD dock which is just seen as a pseudo 6 cd changer with 6 playlists.

Hi,

I've just had confirmation that mine (week 24) has got the Pioneer unit.

So long as the whistling issue is fixed, I'm kinda glad about it actually.

I’ve got the pioneer unit and mines ok until the lights are on there is a whistling noise 24/7 but if you have the stereo volume on 10+ you can’t hear it

Also it’s not every Exeo that has the problem with the pioneer unit

when we got ours it had the pioneer unit ok fair enuff sadly our fones are android base so the unit will not work as it would if we used a iphone/pod with onscreen stuff via the usb or blutooth, tried music films pictures none work.
Not good in todays worlds of smart fones that are better, i can wifi my phone to our ps3 and stream media have to use the aux jack socket.
With the pioneer you do get 12 mths of poi`s for safty cams and other stuff, still trying to work it all out

btw we not had any issue with whistling winding or buzzing at all

After a week of having the Exeo with the Pioneer unit, I am taking it back into the garage for them to look at the ariel connections. The FM reception in my car is very poor and depends on the direction that the vehicle is facing. Driving along the FM signal fades, hisses, pops and crackles. This radio is not as good as the Audi Concert in my previous car. Whilst I like the iPod/iPhone integration, I am starting to wish that I had the RNS-E fitted. I believe that the radio in a factory fitted RNS-E would have worked properly. Other forums all talk about the Pioneer unit having poor FM reception in Audi A4 cars.

It could be the usual aftermarket radio thing where you need to supply 12v up the aerial lead to power the aerial base amplifier. But Seat couldn't be so stupid as to leave it out.

I would put it down the the fitters not doing their jobs right rather then the unit, works here all fine just having issues cos i use android phone so no on screen menus for tunes and no video play back from phone either, though i can use the usb in the car it will only charge the phone.

btw they removed one of the gloveboxes lamps to feed the lead through instead of punching out a pre cut hole for such things.

I have the same problem I went back and they told me to wait until the buzzing etc is fixed first as it might be connected to that!

This is a company who can't install an aftermarket headunit without needing a ground-loop supressor, so I think it's entirely possible they don't know they need to provide power to the powered aerial.

In fairness, it's not something they would ordinarily do, but it's still not a great effort.

Went to the garage and they offered to look at the antenna. They also said that they had spoken to SEAT and there was a new modification due to be published this week which should fix the problems. The person that I was speaking to, was thinking that SEAT would end up doing a recall on the vehicles fitted with the Pioneer unit.

I decided that since the car would need the modification, I would let them investigate the antenna issue when they did that. I was playing with the car on Saturday, whilst waiting for VAGCOM to complete a full scan. I tried the AM reception of the radio and it was awful. It whistled and the scanner could not find any station. Essentially it was not usable at all. The symptoms that this radio has, seem very much like those listed by avic411 website.

I would suggest that the antenna issues are because the car has diversity antenna feeds which are designed for the RNS-E unit. This is based on dual antennas in the back window of the car. The Pioneer unit only uses one antenna feed. It will be interesting to see what solution has been fitted to the car. I suspect that only one of the antenna feeds has been fitted to the vehicle. This will mean that the incoming signal to the radio will be ~3dB less than it should be.

I am astonished that you haven't all rejected the cars unless Seat agree to get the working unit (probably the original RNS-E) installed in the car with full DIS integration, a working radio etc etc.

...and has the dealer got Nav Discs for it ?
Larfinboy seemed to say there was a problem with delivery on the discs
Now discover Sat Nav discs on back order and dealer has a car waiting 6 weeks so far for the disc.
