Similar to the Audi then. In that case, if the latest spec cars have been factory fitted with the red DIS and then the NAV units fitted later then any integration with the Pioneer ( even if possible ) is going to be flawed, just as it was when trying to retrofit an RNS to an Audi with the red DIS.

What sort of flaws are you talking about.
On all the threads I have read about Audi peeps retro fitting the RNS-E I have not heard about any flaws.
Can you share with us please..

As I understand it the red DIS works and displays NAV guidance BUT if you use the rocker switch to select another display on the Trip, then the ONLY way to get NAV info back is to switch the RNS off and on. The colour DIS doesn't suffer from this problem.

Yes, I have a Tech, but anything with a factory fitted RNS will have a colour DIS.

Got steering controls all fixed today but still got bad feedback from engine in the speakers. Had Tec guy look it and yet again said he needed to get back to me and for once he did this afternoon and told me Seat have just noticed this problem with other vehicles and are looking into this them self, so will be weeks before they come up with a answer I bet. I can confirm there is no sat nav display on dash board and no speech control.

I only tried it with the engine off. I did think i could hear something but i put it down to my imagination. I'm no audio expert, but it sounds like an earthing problem , which should be easily fixed. I'm still not decided if I will accept the car. Apparently it should be at my dealer next week. i just dont want to have to order another car and wait 3 months. If I cancel i will probably get a golf...with no leather or sat nav.

If it's a Bose system I wonder if the noise canceling mic hasn't been connected ?
AFAIK the mic is in the overhead light cluster together with the mic for the factory Bluetooth. I would hazard a guess that the mic could well be normally connected via the RNS to the Bose amplifier ( in the boot I think ). Or maybe since the factory Bluetooth is not used with the Pioneer unit, the mic's have been removed!!. Didn't another post somswhere say something about a stick-on mic for the Pioneer bluetooth ?

From your other post Re:delivery times, you are the second person on the forum to report sound interference issues with the Pioneer, it must be a common installation problem. It doesnt fill me with confidence that the fitters know what they are doing. My car has been in the UK for two weeks now...no sign of it at the dealers.

I'm astonished your so calm about it - I think its totally unacceptable to change the spec of the car and replace the integrated unit with a 3rd party add-on solution that doesn't work?

Has anyone yet asked for the RNS-E to be fitted when it is available?

Yes I have asked but they say this is not an option. I even asked them to swap the one from the dealers demo. I have complained to SEAT UK and this is the reponse I got. I have replied pointing out that any replacement should have equal of better functionality and reiterated that the Pioneer is not approved by BOSE (BOSE have asked SEAT to run some tests). It should not lose any functionality.

"Thank you for your email dated 29 June 2011 regarding the media system in your new SEAT Exeo ST.
I am sorry to hear about your disappointment with the Pioneer media system that will be fitted to your new vehicle. The reason that the media system has been replaced is due to global supply problems with some of the system's components. This has been caused by unforeseen circumstances that SEAT UK did not have any control over.

We feel that the Pioneer media system is an upgrade to the media system that we can no longer supply. This has been done so that SEAT UK can reduce the effect of the production issues on our customers. Although the Pioneer media system loses some of the Bluetooth functions of the media system, SEAT UK feels that this compensated with the following gains;

Pre-installed mapping data
* Touch screen
* Seven-digit postcode search
* Database of 6.1 million points of interest (POI)
* NavGate Feeds PC application enables you to add your own POIs
* USB connectivity
* Bluetooth audio streaming
* Upgraded iPod connectivity - displays album artwork, playlists, albums and artists
* Video playback (supported formats include DVD, DivX, MPEG4, H.264, WMV and JPEG)
* Aux-in socket moved to glove box

With regards to your request for compensation, SEAT UK feels that we are already offering a good will gesture in the form of anupgraded media system. Therefore, in this instance, SEAT UK will not be offering any form of a good will gesture for our affected customers.

If you require any further assistance regarding this, or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The sound quality aside, there isn't any mention in the books or tech specs about the in dash NAV display - not sure about the in dash music display.

I have an Exeo with the non Bose sound system - and frankly, the speakers are terrible. My new (correctly speced) Exeo should be with me next week, so I will be able to compare the quality.

If it's whistling when the engine runs however, it'll be going back to be fixed.

I'm writing to Daniel Jackson who is head of Seat UK Customer Care. Yes it'd be great to have 7 digit postcode search, but I'd rather have the integration with the DIS, the proper sound system, and the look of a system that was actually built for the car. This is after all what I ordered!

I've got RNS-E in my current Audi - so I know what it does and what it doesn't.
