modifying! x

right! i have finally decided to start modifying my Ibiza (08 plate). my only concern would be if the warranty will then be void if i start changing things? any ideas?
looking at starting off with full induction kit, wheels and possibly coil-overs. any suggestions for these items? i was thinking about even just painting the standard alloys black (my car is silver).

Welcome!
Theres a few lasses on this forum from up your way! So you should have some local help too.
Basically If you modify something and something breaks because of the modification you made it wont be covered

For example. If you replaced the .... Intercooler, and the car overheated because you did it wrong and you blew the engine that would void your warrenty.

if you for example you use one of those cheap modding boxes on ebay and it blows the turbo that wont be covered by warrenty.

But say you lower your suspension and put new wheels on and the turbo blows thats still covered by warrenty as theres no direct way those mods could cause that damage.

ahhhh so i can start modifying!! i'd have to get someone pofessional to do everything though cos i dont really have a clue myself to be honest!! i really want to speed my car up, i see yours is sitting at 150, wish mines was!! manual claims mines is 100... quite crap! lol.

I think modifications for that engine wise are not substancial however I could be wrong.
I dont know alot about the 1.4 engines so I could recommend modifications.

One thing I would Highly recommend is getting coilovers to lower it, Its one thing I don't have and one thing I wish I did!

I also bought a Splitter from the local dealers, £20 combine that with coilovers and it will be looking badass, Its the bit of plastic that attaches to the bottom of the bumper

Those are a couple of things.
Window tints are always nice on dark cars, Or white ones!

What car/mode/colour is yours?

hi beth. any replacement of parts u make may void warranty unless you replace them with SEAT approved parts. you can add some things that don't directly affect the engine without any warranty issues (i.e. front splitter, strut brace, alloys, interior chromage, etc.)

with the 1.4s you are limited to how much you can do with the engine as they are not turbo powered...but some gains can be made

i have the same car bethany, a take it you have the 1.4 dab 100bhp model? As for getting anymore BHP from the car, the options are limited. I have a bmc cda induction kit and cat-back custom exhaust on mine, which to be far, does give it a little more kick but by know means anywhere near the added BHP you would get from a re-map. I have read on here that you can get one done on the car but with little gains compared to the diesel versions, they get about 30+bhp as you will only get about 5-10bhp. Get coilovers though, i can't wieght to get mine when my warranty runs out

yeh mines is the 1.4 100bhp version. i'm liking the front splitter, will investigte that! thinking of tints too, but cant quite picture if really black tints would look good on a silver car...

Hi all, newby on the forum here. I've got a standard 2002 Seat Leon Cupra (180PH) and my brakes are squeeking quite a bit now. It may be brake dust so I'm gonna have a quick look but as it's been around 4 years since they were last changed my gut feeling is that they are due for a change. I'm not a heavy braker (except in race mode) but I only drive at weekends and not excessive in all drive outs.

So I'm tempted to get some EBC greenstuff or redstuff as my first mod. I've seen on the forum that they aren't that great and a lot of yous have recommended Ferodo. I've never heard of Ferodo but I have of green and red stuff and I wanna play it a bit safe. Until I get more familiar with the mods and experience....

Any advice will be much appreciated.
