Halfrauds autocentre failed my tdi 130 ibiza on 2 wiperblades, offside cv nearside cv and both antiroll bar links. They say they want 370 pound for the work. This is shocking! How much should the work cost? And can I actually trust the diagnosis or have they just made up issues? It doesn't drive too bad considering the guy said my cv boot was leaking grease. Please help guys

Cv is just a boot split I take it? Not sure on the price of that.

Drop links are around £12 each and take 5 minutes to fit - very easy job!

Wipers, £25?

areo wipers - 7 pounds of ebay (work fine on my car)

CV - paid 150 including part on old ibiza mk3

Not sure on anti roll

Tried to rip by brother of the other week on a broken belt pulley on his fabia VRS, wanted 270 to fix, he told them were to stick it and left to fit a new one himself, suggest you tell them were to go also

They try to rip everyone of, complete clueless idiots working in all those centres.

mine failed last year on a split cv boot.
garage wanted £100 to do it.
i bought the part for around a tenner and spent about an hour fitting it my self.
wiper blades are pennies
and can they even fail it on droplinks? although theyre only about a tenner a side and take minutes to fit

I think you need to find out what is actually wrong with the c.v side of things..

If its just the clips, the it's a very cheap job.

I know I was a fool but it ran out today and they were the only ones that had a slot this afternoon. Ive now been quoted for 200 inc the price of a re test. I can't do it myself unfortunately I don't have access to a ramp and I live on a main road so can't do it on there either. The mot slip just said constant velocity gaitor deteriorated to such an extent it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (both sides) and both ofside and nearside front anti roll bar has excessive play in a pin/ bush...

So it would seem that you need 2 CV boots (gaitors), 2 wiper blades and 2 drop links. You could do this work yourself with parts off of ebay/internet for about £50. A good garage that doesn't rip people off would probably charge about £150 to £200 I would think.

I know these parts are not for your car but you get the idea on price. gaitor/boot drop link wipers

Only basic tools are needed to fit these parts like spanners, sockets and a hammer to tap the drop links free. Youtube will give you very good how to guides. The only tool you will need for safety is an axel stand so that the car isn't being held up on a widow maker jack whilst you work on it. axel stand

cv boot cost me under £30 fitted. Didn't think you could fail on drop links unless they were actually broken?? Would expect that they would be about £50 fitted for both

they shud come up as advisory for drop links not fail unless they totaly shattered an about to fall off..

Halfrauds autocentre...no no no no no... i work for a motor factors so if you let me know your reg and exactly what its failed on i can log in and give you a trade price estimate on how much it would cost you, it will give you a rough idea what you buy it all for and what they do if that helps you dude

well... took it to a local garage in lincoln, halfords lied, only one cv boot needed changing, the other side was fine and the antirollbar links were fine also! so he did the boot and the re test all for £99. just annoyed i paid halfords for lies!
