Funny thing is people are calling halfords a rip off etc. These garages were only bought in 2010 by Halfords and then re-branded to be called Halfords AutoCentres. They were all Nationwide garages....I think this is the issue lol.

The fact they tried to fleece you is crap. I've always found this from large chains of MOT centres unfortunately Always better taking it to a local MOT centre if you can

well... took it to a local garage in lincoln, halfords lied, only one cv boot needed changing, the other side was fine and the antirollbar links were fine also! so he did the boot and the re test all for £99. just annoyed i paid halfords for lies!

Was the garage in Lincoln a MOT center ? If so you can report Hafords for the MOT test.

Just seen you had it re-tested. I would report Halfords.

Interesting to hear more bad press on anything Halfords and i think it's due to the low caliber employees(monkey boys) they seem to attract.
On a positive i took my modded Ibiza and a Vw beetle to a auto centre in January and paid under £50 for the two cars. No advisories on the beetle and the advisories on my ibiza were spot on and what i already new about so no rip off just accurate an assessment of my car.
They explained the new MOT rules and gave advise on what to do for next year as i have a air bag light on due to having no air bags.
So overall very pleased with the service.
This could be a one off Auto Centre though.
