Anyone already put a MK4 TDi through the MOT? Anything to watch out for?

I'm on 65k, so not long past a big service. Had new front tyres at 60k as well, so hopefully no worries on the rubber front.

Dealer sent me a reminder letter but I'm tempted to get the test done by my local council garage. Theory being that as the council garages don't offer any sort of repairs to Joe Public (they are MOT test centres primarliy for their own fleets), you have a better chance of getting through without being stitched up. More on MoneySavingExpert or find the phone number for your test centre from your local Council's website.

Cheers,

Chris.

Done plenty of Fabias for MOTs.

Things to look for are

Broken anti roll bars (though technically not a fail)
Play in steering rack tie rods
Tyres
Lights
Wipers + Screenwash
Exhaust
Lower wishbone bushes
Brakes for corronsion/sticking (usually applies to low mileage vehicles)

However if you have had a big service recently id say it should all be ok.

Is that emissions value for a particulate test ?
Sounds OK - is yours remapped or standard ? I can't remember !
