Have you ordered Lamin-X tinting film? People seem to buy that fly eye stuff which looks crap if you ask me. I've used Lamin-X on the rear lights of my skoda and on our kids GSX-R indicators. It's really good gear.

The go pro videos good mate and the exhaust sounds awesome, I'd love to change my Miltek for what you have but I can't justify the money at the moment ha ha.

This is the film fella

Dans looks really good on his, just hope I can do as good a job at fitting it.

Might do my bike with the left over as that's a good idea.

Cheers mate, If you wanted the BCS Nige would do you a great deal. Just say you want the same price as he charged me ;)

Think you'd get very good money back on your Miltek buddy as there such a desirable system for the K1

Need to get my old system up for sale as its taking up valuable garage space.

So my Cupra has been here today

Pete has fitted my new OEM DMF,new bolts,Release bearing + Helix uprated organic clutch plate and cover.

Can't thank him enough for what has been an excellent service. This was my first experience with him working on my Cupra and would highly recommend him. Without question I'd have more work if needed done there.

Obviously I've not given her any beans yet, but first impressions on the new set up are excellent and very happy with it in every aspect.

Clutch pedal is as expected in the sense of it's harder than stock but not as bad as I'd anticipated. Also the bite point is now different again not in a bad way. Overall it just feels solid and after driving only twenty miles I'm getting to grips with it already.

Whilst she was there he changed my engine oil to the milers 5W/40 that Niki advised me to get along with new oil filter. Also the gearbox oil was changed to the milers 75W/80 as recommended by AKS Alex and Opie Tim.

She feels silky smooth on gear changes and the engine sounds less tapity on tick over compared to when it had the castrol edge 5W/30.

Now down to what the parts were like that got replaced,DMF was on it's way out with a fair bit of movement.Clutch plate wasn't bad in terms of wearing down and would no doubt of got a bit more life out of it.

What caused it to slip was the release bearing that was goosed and covering the clutch plate in oil. But even without that issue it wouldn't have been long before the DMF needed to be replaced.

Either way I'm glad I've changed to the Helix as it gives me the excuse to go stage2

In the meantime I'm going to get booked in at R-Tech for a map tweak since now I've got the BCS fitted it's interesting to see what Niki can do for me.

Then later on in the year will purchase a Loba pump as my first stage2 supporting mod.

Thanks for everyone that has helped me I really appreciate it :)

Cheers for reading and all comments welcomed

Craig

Cheers Dan, Before he touches the map it will get a dyno run. So it should show an increase with the BCS bolted on.

Then hopefully after a tweak it'll have more gains.Just need to get some miles in on the Helix now driving like daisy

I did this for about 500 miles and it still juddered quite a bit,so i launched out of first and went through the gears into 3rd a couple of times and it felt great after that.
I put the juderring down to the mechanic maybe forgetting to cleam protective oil off the flywheel and pressure plate.
Not sure if this is what yours is doing and i know ive said the above before but just seeing if you have the same thing going on.

Cheers Al I'll keep that in mind. So far it's feeling good, haven't gone over 3k revs yet as want to take it easy. Meeting richicupra soon so just about to go out for a play.

Good to hear all went well with the new bits and pieces :)

Your comment about my job on the tinting is nice, but there are a few imperfections close up haha. I would like to do them again, but really, really hated it. I dont have the patience for wrapping things.

When you do it, all I would say is take your time, use some lubricant to position it and make sure you leave enough spare to tuck in around the edges. The trickiest part is the bit closest to the grille. Mine just didnt want to stick properly.

I also don't think you'd get them air bubble free unless you're a master at wrapping. The headlight shape is a pain in arse to work with.

Cheers Dan,

In a way it was nice to know it was the release bearing at fault and not clutch wear. Also happy I've not stalled her yet although Pete wasn't as he was ready to give me some stick ha ha.

Nice one for the tips on the tinting I'll no doubt get annoyed with it as I'm not the best with wrapping  put it this way if it's half as good as yours I'll be made up.

It arrived on Saturday so will hopefully get it done this week.

Looking forward to seeing this next time we meet up assuming A. It's not blowing a Gale B. Snowing C. -2 D. Anywhere inhabited by to55ers in Quashqai's that can't drive for shi7!! :D

Hope everything is doing grand for you man, I bet you can't wait to open her up again and let her roam the roads like a Lioness! :D

I couldn't get mine in for a power test the guy's been fully booked so hopefully he will loosen up soon so I can get some numbers on mine! :)

All good mate cheers, nearly done 200 mile with the Helix now so starting to put more power through it, just going to build up till I've past 400 miles. Had a lot of good advice so going to stick with it as it'll pay off in the end.

Sounds good mate always a good sign when it's hard to get in somewhere due to them being busy ;)

Will get in touch with R-Tech this week and see when I can have a visit there.

Glad to here Craig that you have almost got her back to normal (well even better) with that new clutch, hope she goes quick once you let her off the leash, and then get some videos up with that new cam you got.

Cheers Will thanks mate, planning on doing a lap or two of the EVO triangle next week weather permitting.

So will have to take the GoPro with me for some vids :D

To be honest I'll probably still go if it's wet as the Asy 2's grip well regardless..... Lol famous last words.

Had a parcel arrive from Germany today :D
