Well, as long as the boss doesn't throw a spanner in the works, I'll be on track at Brands Hatch tomorrow night! :)

Getting the gearbox oil changed at work tomorrow.

Well, gearbox feels brilliant after the oil change, so much slicker!

The Brands session went really well, only downside was someone in the session before us stuffed it into the barrier on the slowing down lap meaning I only got 5 mins on track. :(

Got a refund from MSV though so shall book another up methinks!

I'm now on the hunt for suspension, can't afford coilovers and don't want to go mad on the drop, was thinking Supersport 20mm kit?

Also, insurance renewal has come through.

Ouch. :(

I called up for an insurance quote if i added coilovers and my insurance company won't touch modified cars. So looks like I will have to wait a bit, or just say they were fitted as factory standard honest!lol, but for £1200 extra to switch policies, and being 21 with an LCR, its a serious debate. Are they the CRN 40 grooves you have? just ordering some 8 groovers and DS2500s all round, should help me now with my remap!!

I got them from a brad1 on here, I think they are EBC, not 100% sure though.

I've got all mods (now and future) declared and it's £1348 fully comp.

I'm 32 though!

Just goes to show you points DON'T make prizes!

Righty ho, am hoping to get my hands on some lowering springs rather than coilies for the minute, but on another note (Tom (Klone) this is for you!)

I have my rear led indicators in and working!

Not the best pic or vid but I think they look great! :)

Hey Mark,

The indicators look great; very bright but might just be the video. Was it much work to fit the resistors etc?

As a point of note with regard to the 40 grooved discs, I've had them for a good three or so years. Initially, I had the EBC Red Stuff pads fitted front and back. The rears weren't noisey but the fronts were wooo-y on braking; more so when the pads started to ware. After a bit of trial and error, I struck silence with DS2500 pads. They're less abrasive than the ceramic-based EBCs and I've found that with 'softer' pads, you don't get the wooo-y noise until they start to ware, as mine are at the moment. I have a new set ready to fit when I repaint my front callipers, like you; I did my rears on Friday with good results.

The brake callipers came out great! Black always looks nice IMO and the shade of red really suits your car. Did you go with white decals in the end? I got 80mm transfers off ebay (x6 for 1.89).

Thanks Mark :)

Thanks guys. :)

The resistors were really easy to wire in, Lee69 came to the rescue to let me know which wires I needed to splice into, and handily, there are a couple of recesses in the bulb holders for the resistor ballasts to sit without rattling around!

I haven't put any decals on the brakes yet, I did get some black ones from ebay but they didn't stick very well. I ended up putting one of the bigger brembo stickers on the rear window!

I'm thinking I might leave them as they are, they look SO much bigger as they are!

And it's different!

I've got some el-cheapo mintex front pads on there at the mo, they seem to do the job at the moment, but I reckon after all the good things I've heard, I'll probably go for the DS2500 when these wear out.

:)

Next on the list is to get the Forge TIP on that's currently an ornament in the shed!

Then it's suspension, I'm looking at either Supersport shocks and springs giving a modest 20mm drop (after the somewhat heated chat with Lynsey about lowering the car I'm not going as low as the astra was (60mm) car was supposed to be a compromise!) Or getting some new shocks all round and getting some FK springs (again 20mm)

After that, it's exhaust time! Having had a nose around, the guy on ebay that had the blueflame systems for £295 has run out :( so it's back to the drawing board, have seen a Jetex cat back for £335, have seen Scorpion catback for about the same sort of money. Then there's the obligatory Milltek option for about £350.

We'll see. :)

I'm still hoping I'll come across a 2nd hand stainless system on ebay or one of the forums!

Oh, and debadging the rear of the car. I'm going to replace all the R badges (already have them)

looks good fella!!

I would go for a milltek only if you dont really fancy pops and bangs etc if you decat. my LC sounds very sedated compared to my mates LCR running a decat and scorpion exhaust.

When he had his cat on with the scorpion exhaust, his was deeper, and a tad louder which i really like... now its decatted its a bit mental, bangs and flames ;)

Im going to look into getting another backbox and sell my Milltek on i think... i want some pops and bangs

Hmmm, not sure I'll decat (mind you, I say that now, when I read this back in x years I'll probably laugh!)

Milltek is the preferred option, mainly because I've had them before. I have found a VERY good price on a blueflame though, just need to count my pennies!

if im honest, i have been debating decatting as its an arseache with MOT time etc... but the noise along is worth it!

I saw an LCR exhaust on ebay a few days ago, shame its finished now :(

Really? Must have missed that, I've been looking for a while!

I saw the two standard ones on there but not a stainless. :(
