My cars doing some funny stuff :S

After driving a ford ka hire car all week while mine was being repaired i finally got my cupra back today... Im happy again now lol

Anyway a few wierd things have happened since picking it up and id like some advice as to the first things to check Would hate to have to take it back there again!!

Anyway first things first.. My laptop went into the boot so i locked the doors and boot with the switch inside like normal.. no problems there.

When i came to get out i pressed the button.. heard the clunk of the door locks but they wouldnt open. After a few presses of the buttons it wasnt even making the clunking noise on the locks anymore.

Anyway after working out i could use the key plipper thing to open the doors i managed to get out! However none of the interior lights are working either... Also with me mashing the keys to get out the hazards were on but the alarm wasnt going off...

Locked the car just now and the flashy alarm lights aren't flashing.... Im guessing the alarm isnt even set

Can anyone help me out at all ??? Could it be a fuse or something not connected up properly again ??

It was a rear end crash and i know that the rear windscreen was fitted this afternoon.. The heated rear windscreen is still working though!!

any help or suggestions most welcome

A fuse has blown.

I cant remember which one. But if you look under your steering wheel and remove the plastic cover to show the fuse box. One of them will be blown.

Ive had it happen to me too. When i pressed the unlock door button, whilst the doors are automatically locking. Stupid thing to do, i know.

Also slightly worried after just driving to work.. For some reason the car was boosting more than before and now when i accelerate im getting a knocking noise. Only notice it when i floor it though :s

Guess ill be spending my lunch break under the bonnet LOL

Have replaced the blown 7.5amp fuse and now the alarm and interior lights and locks etc are working again

HOWEVER I cant work out whats causing the other problem.

Its making a hell of a racket when i put my foot down.. Almost sounds like a tractor Seems to drive ok though and boosts fine.. Just sounds dodgy as hell when im driving it

Any ideas out there people ?? Doesnt make half as much noise when just revving from a standstill.

Will try and get a video of it later if no one is able to help...

Got into the car this morning and started it up.. The noise was terrible so I had to open the bonnet to look again.

This time i could see that the 3 manidold bolts werent even tightened and were vibrating about and had loosened themselves

Tightened them up and all now seems good

Need to call the repair centre for a rant though!!!
