Right, I have been meaning to get this up for a long time now, so i am going to start this thread and will hopefully get up to present day.

I bought my standard car in July 2008, i had big plans from the start. So heres how the car was not to long after i picked it up.

A few weeks after i got the car i decided that i should get some use out of my Alpine dvd headunit (that i took out of my previous car clio 172). I also had a set of MTX component speakers, that i planned on putting in the back.

While i was fitting the dvd player i had an idea, i had always planned on putting a set of gauges in the car, i had decided on boost and oil temp, so i ordered gauges and after looking on here for places to put them, i decied on the 2 centre air vents, didnt quite expect i would have as much hassle getting the gauges hooked up, but i will come to that later. Here the pics so far.

Next on the list was some window tints,

I have been practicing tinting windows on friends family ect for a while so i did mine to.

Then decied it was to dark and looked like a van so took them off, with intent to do them in a lighter shade but havent got round to it yet. :p

Then i decied to get back into moutain biking again, so was left with the dilema of how to get my bike places so ended up with detachable tow bar.

This is what it looks like on.

Am not totally happy with the way the towbar looks but i have a plan. ;)

In the grand story so far i think i am at around about March 2009, A no its been slow progress so far. I had now started lusting after more power :D.

So went for a remap from a local place, probs should have went to a more vag specialised company but they came reccomended from the guy at my local seat dealer.

Was really happy with the increse in power, but wanted more so started looking into hybrids ect.

So the next thing i bough,

NOT A GOOD UPDATE.

Pulled onto a round about gave it a bit of boost and pop no power and clouds of white smoke out the back, got its stopped nice an quickly.

This was the cause.
154.jpg

and the bits in the exhauts.
157.jpg

Wasent happy

Didnt take much to decide on a new hybrid turbo :D

So i set about stripping the trubo off car and all pipe work so i could clean the metal bits out.

Found inlet manifold all clogged up with gunk due to EGR valve, cars only done 40 000 miles.

Nice car. How much did ur turbo set you back?

love the gauges, would like to do this myself, but no idea where they would need 2 connect 2 :(

You've went along the same lines as I plan with my grill. I plan to do the Red where you have it, Except along the top section. ( if you imagine it as 4 sided) I plan to do it black and leave the bottom red. Golf style :)

Cheers mate, turbo was bout £1200 a think, it was a brand new unit that was turned into a hybrid!

The gauges were a bit of a pain, the boost gauge, i ended up removing my egr valve and fitting a normall pipe with a fitting in to feed the boost gauge. The other is oil temp again a pain, had to drill and tap the sump drain bung and fit the temp sender into it. Everything works and it wasent to bad for me to do, but i am a mechanic by trade, although not a car mechanic.:p

How did you join your pipework to the turbo?

Joined it with the standard pipe coupler with the standard hose removed!

Update, not much has changed got 312mm brakes on now got stage 2 mapping on, cars going really well.

Oh and just got back from Nurburgring the other week, car performed brill! Suspension needs a bit mroe fettling for next time!:)
