Alow me to tell you about the Split R valve:
Just dont go there! Get the 007P from Forge or any other valve with a good rep. Best advise youll get this week.
wont get much of a tish from a 007p tho if thats what he wants .....but iirc most atmospheric valves bring up faults on vags

Actually youll get a pretty nice sound from the 007P when used with an open cone air filter and remap boost.
howcome the split-r is so pants then??i want a nice tish sound (like wat he got on the vid in this thread)... just love the noise to be honest... some people say installing the 007p backwards/upsidedown makes it sound good??...
i really like the split r valve its now in my boot as spare if it goes in limp mode ..you can adjust the hks dv to make a different sound but found this best as it throws it in limp pretty much strait away if the bolt is to open ... with regards to the n249 im prety sure it stps the car running to much boost altho im not sure exactly all i no is it feels alot better to drive and seems to pick boost up alot quicker .. if ny one is in the kent area i ill be happy to do it for them its so easy to do .. those that are not i will try and do a guide
oh and i done a quick scan with vag com threw up check dv or some thing still runs and boosts like normal. cel light is up but thats because i have a decat ... with regaurds to the loud tssshhhh bcm the blow of valve aint for you lol

I used to have the Split R and it was, as for many others here, after remap completely junk. It produces alot of compressor stall. (chatter) Not good for the turbo. I did a series of leak tests on mine and found it not to hold any kind of vacuum. Not even in full resirq. Another point is after remap the 1,8T engine runs ALOT better together with a valve thats gives 100% recirculation. The engine is just designed that way, you know? The difference between a semi dump valve and full resirq becomes apparent after remap.
Have yet to try my 007P in the "reverse" order. With reverse I mean not reverse from the original Bosh valve which had a different design, but instead of sending the return out the side, as the valve is designed for, flip it 90º so the return exits out the bottom of the valve.
so i wont bother with the split r then lol ....does the 07p or any other vlve make any sognificant increase in noise without map??? will be getting other mods for a stage 2 map... so its long down the line

most people slate them - but I was at RSTuning on saturday and there was a red LCR running a spliter-R (35 clicks) and that was boosting fine. Some people seem to be able to run them fine.
You often find them in the for sale section on here - so you could try without getting stung for the full price.

get the split r if you want a slight tssh the 007p if you want a slight squeak lol both are good
i went hks because i tookit off my dads scooby p1 i blew up a month ago lol so im testing it out for you lot ... to day it went into limp mode i stopped turned he car off.stared it again and it was all ok ...
Expected it to go into limp mode a lot sooner.
Turning it off and on, great - maybe not the best way to clear codes.
Just take it off mate.
