Hopefully 034 will take full responsibility for it and refund you you're money back without any problems. Yeah I see what you mean now you mention it about it not been the bolts been over tightened, looks like bad casting maybe?

Just read this from top to bottom, nice work and hoping the awd conversion comes through. Shame about the broken mounts.

Keep up the good work

I'm think bad/ poor material when casting, either way I'm steering clear now! Lol

I must take my Hat off to John Glover, sales Manager at Awesome GTI, he has been on my side the whole way and at every point has offered me a refund, this time I'll be taking it. Also again I must thank him... Soon I'll be fitting a full decat Milltek system at a very good price.

It's just a shame 034 are acting like complete f****ing idiots, they're responses have been ignorant and blame fitting, yet ignore questions about quality assuming they are the best. I even videoed/ pictured the install and it was exactly how they recommended. If they was local and spoke to me how they did I promise I'd be down to their shop, beating them with engine mount leftovers.

Thank you sir! The AWD conversion will I promise, the only let down is how much work I have time or patience to do myself I could get a garage to do it for me, but I wouldn't be as happy ... Or would i?! Haha either way it'll get done, I have every part needed, and I drive my LCR like a granny at the moment due to so much spin (poor map) so all I think about is AWD.

The broken mounts are part and parcel of modifying, a extreme case for engine mounts but it happens, now I know for next time! Lol

Thanks again for taking the time to post gents.

My plan for this weekend was to get this fitted..
c174b7b0595beba24785f4d20a8c93f2.jpg

But now I'm working sat night Sunday night and Monday... Joys!

But anyway... I'm planning to get my car set up best as possible for the great European rally! Once that's done, it's upgrading AWD time ...

-staytuning|staymodified

So today was the worst day so far... I started to fit my springs, soon realised I should've ordered new drop links... I got new top mounts but forgot the drop links! Anyway.. Guess what happens ... The drop links decide to explode when attempting to unscrew... I knew it would happen so refitted to front strut, put the wheel back on and moved to the rear... Easy as pie. So now we have the front high as a kite and the rear nice and low... I can't get the drop links until next week... So itll stay a$$ down face up for the long weekend! I'll get photos up shortly.

Anyway... My advice for anyone going forward... Get springs, top mounts (they're out so why not change them) and drop links! I'm slowly doing little bits, don't want to do too much as I don't want too but too much twice for when I go AWD. Oh and awesome emailed me... The exhaust is now in stock, but the down pipe isn't, apparently they don't have one in the country so there's a two week wait for that! Which is fine... Let's get the springs out the way first! Then we will get the down pipe and exhaust done!

So my current setup is already known as the speed boat approach...

This is why...

My setup so far is;
Standard cupra r alloys all around (19's)
Front - standard suspension - 12mm spacers
Rear - eibach sport lines - 15mm spacers

I'm not 100% sure on the spacer size I think that's right.

Anyway I get slight rubbing on the rear driver side, but my tank is full and my tools are in the boot so I'm guessing that's the main culprit.

Today I spoke with a guy from TFS Motorsport, For custom drop links, they have cost me £104.00, I showed them the Volkswagen racing ones but didn't reveal the VWR logo, they said they didn't want to sound unprofessional but the rose joint isn't the best quality or suitability for a fast road car due to; over time they will get dirt in them and seize, leading to a failed MOT and poor attributing ride, they suggested for a fast road car that ball joints will be better in all aspects, now they never slagged anyone off but merely suggested ball joints are a better all rounder, the rose joint is fine for track but that's where it stays, so I moved onto the common failing point of our drop links, the spline insert which holds the ball joint from spinning, they always brake, he said his comes fixed with a bolt either side so you can use a 13mm or 14mm to hold either end. He is going to send me a pair front and rear to try out they are adjustable + & - in length but can be custom order if you'd like a variation. I'd just like to point out at this point... I found there add on eBay ...

And it said we can supply custom ones for 99% of cars so I emailed them and that's where this started, I'm hoping I can find a alternative to ridiculously priced VWR ones and white lines. Fingers crossed.

I do not doubt the rose joint theory as when there was one installed on my bottom gearbox mount it creaked and stiffened right up. Also the sad reality isn't that these days you get what you pay for, look above at my 034 mounts. So fingers crossed they will come through good and if so I hope you guys upgrade and don't look back! The price is very good, not far off OEM/euro car part ones.

Just wondering what are you doing with your standard rear springs?
are you going to apex next week?

Standard springs are currently on a scrap pile! Haha if they're any use I'll post them if you cover costs, also don't think I am, what is it? -edited/ just read up on Apex, I'd like too but I doubt it as I want to do a few things on my car first.

Few pictures from today..

Quite happy with the car but had serious scrapping under Hard cornering, for those of you that know lydden you'll know it's more of a go kart track than a race circuit lol, I loved it! And pushed on regardless splitting cars like the red sea
& spinning past third corner to corner....

Looking good!

Do you rate the TTRS brake conversion over standard?

Straight fitment?

Looking at doing a couple track days myself and was considering the TTRS setup with 340mm discs as I've got 18" bbs seat sport wheels. seems a reasonable upgrade for the money

No videos of your trackday?

Check out Harrys lap timer App for your trackdays

What did you have to do to get those 370mm disc on. I thought the TTRS discs where 340mm

Thanks I shall have a look.

The TTRS, RS3 has 370mm discs as standard, I think you may be getting confused with TT-S, Golf R, Leon Cupra R all have 345mm up front with single piston calipers... Heaviest calipers known to man kind...

Iv got 18" wheels, 370mm discs might my fit . Are the calipers close to your 19's

Yeah check out YouTube for Harry's lap timer, Iv got it on my phone ready for croft @ the end of the month

They fit under some 18's as the TTRS comes with 18s as standard. I've had to space mine, only really needed 2-3mm. I'll check it out.

Just got back from brandshatch!

What fun that track is, amazing! And thankfully the car never missed a beat, hanging of the rear bumpers of modified clios and leaving older m3's .. Good fun!

I've uploaded some photos of lydden and brands to my YouTube account,
http://youtu.be/hawkwcSueBs
That's the link for one video you can go from there!

I cannot say how much of a good feeling it is when you track a car that you've spent hours doing all the bis yourself, the cuts, bruises, bangs, arguments and broken parts, it makes it all worth it! So much more than just driving it or looking at it on the road, but it also does another thing... Makes me want more parts!! Lol
