hey , just finished building up my induction kit, really knackering in this heat i must say! i really liked the look of jabba's kit but as i couldn't aford it i decided to go a bit DIY lol. it cost me just under £100, that included:

JR cone filter and breather, 70mm aluminium pipe, 50cmx50cm sheet of aluminium, cold air feed pipe, plus all the jubilee clips.

im well happy with the results and it even gives a subtle dump now i've added the 007p. i guess it's an alternative to all the 'off the shelf kits' out there. comments and questions welcome.

looks good matey, cant argue at the price, should have sheilded the filter the other way tho, as jabba has (vertical), think you might be loosing some suction on the otherside as its just sucking in metal

yeah i guess so, i had it unshielded for a few days and i think it was pulling in too much hot air cos i wasn't running too well. putting the shield on seems to have made a difference.

Where did you get the sheet from? lol

I am running an alloy mesh open filter, it gives an amazing noise, but it suffers from heatsoak also. I have been looking to buy and make a heatshield but tried local hardware & material shops with no luck?

i know but theirs not enough air getting to the other side of the cone, unless you have it totally enclosed and you have a air feed you will need a gap between the filter and the sheild

I'm looking at boxing my cone in, as in putting an aluminium wall between the filter and the engine....whilst allowing the induction to suck in from all around...

thats what i mean, like the jabba, dont do it the other way around the actual cone

May have been better using steel as opposed 2 ally! (steel is more heat resistant) apart from that good job!

the sheet is from b+Q, £8 for a 50x50cm sheet

cheers, i only used alloy as its real easy to work with, i heard steel is hard to cut and bend.

sheild it like this, similar to jabba, you will only need to move the sheild on your setup, take 5 mins

Steel is easy enough to work with if you have a bending or rolling machine. Alternatively a vice and mallet should do the job! lol. Its tempting to have a go myself now! damn!
