the valve itself is called n75 valve, there are several variants such as the n75c, n75f, n75j, n75h etc but they were designed for different versions of the 20vt engine, stick with the standard f variant if its for a normal leon cupra/r.

The ECS 'Race' N75 is exactly the same as the N75 J variant. Although you probably paid a little more as it contains the word 'Race' 
karlos, searchy for my rolling roaded tests between a few n75's, the only difference between them was the fact that boost came on a little earlier for some variants, making the others "feel" like they were holding boost later.

no such thing as a "race" type valve
issues with more aggresive type N75 valves are they can make the car go into limp mode, requiring the battery to be disconnected etc
to be honest i played around with these valves for some while, and i would just stick to the normal one that came with the car as the difference is marginal in a standard car
even if it's chipped etc, its still not worth it as of course the chip then takes care of more boost etc etc

i had mine fitted before i had my LCR re-mapped and there was a definate difference. i've been told that there is a difference between this and the J valve. my understanding is that the J variant comes from one of the audi S4 engines and doesn't seem to work very well on the 1.8t engine. like i said though i was told this so i might be wrong.

I fitted the J at the weekend and so far so good!! I like it. I was told the J is good if your car is standard, which mine is (at the mo) Im a bit worried now after reading this thread?? Maybe i will get some problems?? Hope not. Just have to wait and see i guess.
