I'd pay for a dealer upgrade to that, but I very much doubt they will ever offer it. If they do, it's going to be north of £1k when you consider the cost of it as an option on new cars.

The new (January 2015) price list has three prices for the Nav System High. It's not totally clear, but it looks as though, if you are buying an SE or FR with the Tech Pack, you will have to pay an extra £1,030 for the Nav System High. (Without the Tech Pack, it costs £1,525.)

Considering that the Nav System High includes the £355 SEAT Sound System (which itself includes a spacesaver spare wheel), you are effectively paying £675 for the higher-spec screen and satnav (if you're buying a Tech Pack car).

If you are buying a Cupra 280 or X-Perience SE Technology, which come with a spare wheel as standard, the Nav System High costs £930.

Same software but a higher resolution screen, 1/2" bigger screen and hard drive to store music.

Not exactly the same software, the navigation in particular is much more enhanced, the processor is faster, it has MirrorLink and it also has a whole Eco gaming thing built in I believe.

A video with the new navigation High Line on the new st cupra 280.

glad you found the video useful, I got my hands on it at the Brussels auto show in January. it surely has more features than what I filmed with one hand while using the system with the other :) unfortunately I could only find a couple of minutes to play with the navi high but I can definitely say I was impressed.

it has a much better resolution, you can see the difference with the slightly bigger screen, plus all the animations were fast and smooth. it's in a different class compared to the normal navi system (I have that on my FR184).

The normal sat nav is a (small) step up. From a map.

I know the normal navigation system is slow, has an outdated processor and a low resolution compared to todays standards, but in my case it was the only way to have the upgraded multi function display which is light years ahead of the normal ones on the mk3 leon.
Plus, most of us got the navi included in different packs, so its not nice to complain about stuff received for free :)

Personally I would also pay the difference to get the improved system, but it was not available when I ordered mine one year ago. Same for the slim vs thick steering wheel on the FR and so on, I would pay to have it upgraded, but I really think it will not be an option (at least not offered by dealers)

Nowts free. It's built into price of car. In our case, attached to nigh on £30k of car. The current unit is not as good as previous Mk2 unit, probably why Seat are now offering an upgrade. When I purchase a newer model of something I expect it to work at least as well as the item it replaces. Phones, cars, tv's , women. Well maybe not the latter.

So is the latest FR Steering Wheel definitely thicker than the earlier cars?

Navigation replace

Hi All,
i'm new here so maybe others already ask the same question.
I want to replace my current audio system (5inch screen without navigation) on seat MK3 with an original system with navigation (Navigation PLus 5,8 inch).
the question is do I need something additional do to this switch or is just plug & play (except the wiring between cd/card unit reder and navigation system)?
thx!

High navigation system: the new top-of-the-range

Have ordered the new High Navi System with my ST 280 Cupra due in August. Taking a slight gamble at £930 extra, though does include Seat Sound System which is £355, so the Navi High is effectively £575, so more bearable in that respect, just wish I knew more about it - managed to glean the following off a SEAT Press Release on the new ST Cupra :

High navigation system: the new top-of-the-range
The new SEAT Leon CUPRA comes to market with a state-of-the-art infotainment solution as standard. The SEAT Navi System High is the new top-of-the-range information and entertainment system. It includes a 6.5” touch screen with 800 x 600 pixel resolution and a wide range of new features: it can connect to a number of mobiles via Bluetooth, manage several user profiles and read and write text messages. The navigator shows detailed 3D images of important buildings, suggests alternative routes according to preferences and indicates the most direct route to the closest petrol station if the fuel level is low. It also includes optimised voice command recognition for radio, mobile and navigator. In addition, it shows the cover of the disc being played from sources such as the built-in 10 GB hard disk drive.

However, still doesn't mention anything re: Mirrorlink, as I'd really love to be able to plug my android phone into the USB in the glovebox and then access it via the touchscreen on the Navi High, that would be really slick!

Anyone else been able to find out more on the Navi High system? The maps looked really detailed on the video from GAMER555, especially zooming in and out on the sports stadium.
