Hey guys, need some advice on what pod to get for my LCR. Want a twin pod up the side om my door, one gauge has to be a boost gauge and not really bothered what the other is as long as its simple to fit. Was thinking of a RPM with gear change light but wouldnt know how to fit it.

Can you please tell me which ones are good and what gauges im best getting and that prf match LCR dash colour

Pics would be great too!

Please dont tell me to search either as i have already tried that :)

I've got the autogauge gradational ones from halfords...roughly £20 a gauge., boost and oil temp, in a Nomad Pillar pod (the ONLY pod worth buying IMO, even if it is £50!)

These gauges were by far the best match day and night, and for the price i'd say they're a bargain!

See this thread for info on wiring these gauges, post #31-

Basically:

Sender has 2 wires...one goes to earth, other goes to gauge, then live feed, and dimmer feed and earth to the gauge.

There is a post form Moffmeister about the whole thing...have a search for gauges, and I'm sure it'll pop up!

As above really m8...you wire the illumination up the same as in my post above, but the oil temp gauge has 3 bolts, 1 positive, one negative, and one which goes to the temp sender. Wire those up accordingly, and then the other wire on the send goes to an earth (if required...some earth themselves on the oil filter housing).

Does anyone have problems with their nomad pods falling off?

As on the nomad page there are two reviews that say its held on with velcro and not clips?

Also, what size is the hose for the boost gauge?

Thanks

I've heard some people remove the clips from the original pillar trim and bond them to the nomad one for extra security

i used velcro and then decided to use the supplied screw as well....it's not going to go anywhere!

Looks a bit too "stuck on" imo...the nomad pod is a replacement pillar...when fitted with the right gauges, it all looks OEM...a lot of people think mine came with the car from new!

Dave FR PD130...your pictures look amazing!
Thanks m8...they didn't come out as good as i was hoping...it was really hard to try and get a decent pic which showed the gauges/dial illumination well enough to see how well they suit each other.

i think i will order the same pod as you Dave

Would a rpm with a change light on be a difficult gauge to fit? what would i have to do?

I need to stop reading this forum as it makes me keep spending money on my car

Any pics of the single gauge pod? And does the reduced weight of the single pod mean it stay up with out needing any modification?
