One of the guys at work was showing me how to use it the other day and I'm pretty sure you can find your radio code on there, and you can disable the need to enter it every time you disconnect the battery too...
If that's the case i'd be interested to know how, Ross Tech say it cant be done

No, You'll need to get the radio code from your dealer (it should also be on a card that came with your car). Most likely, the dealer will need to physically remove the radio to read its chassis number, then the chassis number is input into a database at the dealership to retrieve the radio code. Neither VAG-COM nor the factory scan tools can retrieve the radio code for you.
try what my dealer told me in Mexico, no charge! you might have the code under the ashtray or under radio, or in glove compartment. then you input the code and press the SCAN button and that should do it. Notice that you have to wait an hour with the radio on (car off) until the SAFE display turns into 1000. Then you input the code.
