Found the Bosch S5 Silver for £72.50 here http://www. car batteries online . co . uk/

Not sure about the company though. I don't know anyone who has used them.
Which is about £17 cheaper the euro car parts.

nope, just went straight to eurocar parts. battery light came on on saturday so did not want to risk not getting it sorted before the weekend was over.

Cost me £90 including same day delivery. Real good service!

zipcode,

was wondering if you could do me a favour please,

i ordered exactly the same battery as you (the one in your link)
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/S...7d14278377e281e89e5daa89734a9df81ec660&000020

Went to get it fitted but the garage said it was too wide.

checked the reciept and everything seems to be correct (S5 Battery 096).
now im suspecting that they might have shipped the wrong battery

could you possibly post up the serial number for the battery? its the one right on the top as your looking down on it.

Ive got -
12v 577 400 078
0 092 550- 080

yours?

thanks!!!

I'll have a look when I get home, Will only be lait tonight.

Have you measured yours? Is it 278mm wide? Also, what does is say as the model number on yours?
I'm surprised that they say it's too wide! Even with mine installed (which is the same size as the stock unit that I removed, there is still about 80mm of area available to the left.

Seems really odd.

somethings definitely not right.

i did check your link again and the site mentions the battery is for a 1.9 leon.
but then yourself and everyone else agrees that the '069' is the right model.

gonna go out with a measuring tape and check the original battery (should have done that in the first place really, haha)

its either eurocarparts have the wrong battery, hence what i asked you for the code, or ive buggered the order and need to visit the shop

well that is weird. i never measured the battery that got delivered. just assumed it was the size i asked for. If that is the case then they sent me the wrong size battery, which is actually the right size. Does that make sense?? Christ never have i seen so much confusion about battery's!
