:(

I just picked up my New 1.6 Stylance today and all was going well until I was driving down the road listening to the radeo when the radio just switched itself off. I thought to myself I must have hit one of the steering wheel mounted stereo controls until it happened again and again.

The stereo stays on for about a minute then just powers off completely everytime. Anyone any thoghts? is this a fault or is some weird feature causing this?

It's booked in tomorrow to get it looked at

other than this very happy with the car.

Thanks in advance

Do you have dodgy music taste?

One for the dealer to sort out methinks.

I've not even got the dodgy CD's yet :ban: Just the radio

I'm just worried they're going to start ripping the head unit out and causing all sorts of a mess on the centre consol.

Don't worry mate. A dealer should know what they're doing when removing any parts. Maybe as simple as a loose connection somewhere.

Congrats on the car. I drove one as a courtesy car and was VERY impressed. Handled a lot better than my cupra LOL.

Just dont give it to the Arnold Clark muppets...as sombody sayid on this forum you need to collect 10 tokens from quaver packs to become an AC mechanic.....Take your car to Livingstones or even Bicketts. Both are excellent dealers

I bought it there but in true AC style it was hardly a smooth handover. They've registered it in the wrong name, the cover for the on board diagnostics port under the light switch "got lost" and the stereo is knackered. great start :headhurt:

I'll give them one go to fix it after that I'm off going to use Livingston for servicing me thinks.

do you live in n/m, me too.

Yeah I live just round the corner from the Osprey.. Got a platinum Leon Cupra.....Between myself the wife, mother and inlaws we have bought four cars from Livingstones who are a pleasure to deaLwith. They cant do enough for you. David Brown in sales or Sandy in servicing will look after you. Top drawer.....The problems do not in any way surprise me with regards to AC. They are f*****s

I know where you are, I'm not too far from you.

AC never cease to amaze me with their incompetence. Hopefully I can get it sorted relatively painlessly.

cheers

I would highly recommend you get your cupra chipped. It makes such a difference and as a wee incentive star performance are having a sale during march so the cost is only £299 inc VAT (bargain). I got them to do mine a couple of years back for mmm a lot more but still worth it :p

Just think and extra20% faster..mm

Just reading your comments on AC. Good to know they are just as usless at both ends of the M8! I go to a dealer in Stirling now. Shame Livingsones is so far away. They were helpful when I was looking but couldnt beat AC prices.

cmc,

Have a look at www.starperformance.co.uk
They are in Kirkcaldy. They used to use APR software but they have so much experience now that they do their own custom maps. They also have an excellent reputation in Scotland for good work and service. The guy who owns it is Jim Curley I think.

oh well just back from AC. The car needs a new head unit as mine seems to be knackered. not a good start. Going to ask them to put the MP3 one in if I pay the extra. Now need to wait for one to come in.

Actually can anyone tell me.

I have a 1.6 Stylance but I'm not sure if i've got the MP3 option (don't think I have but for some reason thought it was standard on the Stylance - maybe not). :fool:

If this is built into the head unit does it say 'MP3' on it?

cheers

It's not standard on any model, and yes if you have it the headunit will say MP3 on it.

I've just been told that I now need to wait 2 - 3 weeks for a new stereo to come in and drive about without a radio until then.

needless to say I'm furious. I'm not going to go down the road of threatening to reject the car and I'm willing to be reasonable about this but I think this unacceptable.

Anyone had any similar experiences and any thoughts on what to do? Seat customer services are saying I need to speak to the dealer and resolve it.

Why don't you give Livingstones a call and explain the situation and then ask how long they would take.

The number is
01698 817137

Worth a try and then if they can do it quicker tell AC to get to ****

Just a thought
