Is actually says from seat.co.uk but just been on there and theres no mention (unless its in the Press Releases area)
The SEAT UK press media site has not released any info regarding this model, this press release came from the European Spanish Media site.
I think the site mentioned news.kak have got their wires crossed.

Next big announcement better be: SEAT UK to release Mk4 Beefa Cupra R and give a god damn date too. Off to my dealer this weekend to see what they know
we'll have to wait and see. Just checked both the international and national press sites and no mention of UK, in fact there still isnt anything from the UK press site at all.

Does it even have manual aircon? Looking at the interior pic, there only seems to be a button for air recirculation!
Sorry but Seat have really messed up in my opinion.
Looks ugly, heavier and less powerful than the Mk3... why would i want to 'upgrade' from my Mk3 to that?
Well, it appears that EVERY comment so far on this thread has been against it, so I think its probably fair to say that the general opinion is a big thumbs down. Lets hope that Seat are good at reading public opinion and can turn it around somehow.
Also, read on AutoExpress that Seat are being restricted in the amount of power their cars have and they will not be allowed 4wd because the Seats have to sit below the Audis in the VAG sports ranges.

You could be right. I assume in the UK the specs will be changed and it'll get a CD player and Climate Control when it's released.
I have been reliably informed by a good dealer that they car will be released in the UK, the sales manager said it should be around June 2004.

So they want good results from on of their own brands but yet they put a ball & chain on them? Good business ethics then.......
Perhaps VW are getting a bit envious of SEAT as the mkV Golf looks just like a scaled up Beezer. Maybe they want to sit on SEAT (excuse the pun) a bit to stop them becoming too successful as there's always been in-house rivalry between VW and Audi.
What has happened to it, the original picture i saw looked great the alloys look weedy and it has lost the aggressive stance, not sure about the S3 lookalike silver mirrors instead of chrome

Its just another option mate. Still really fancy the Leon and its probably what i'll end up getting TBH. It'd just be nice to see SEAT stop teasing us and give us some info on cars they release pics of. TBH i think the Ibiza Cupra R will be too expensive at the moment.
I wouldn't spend the money on it, I'd be wanting something more, like a better looking bigger car...

Good call mate, and TBH i think i'm being a bit daft - i love my Leon except for the fuel consuption, the 130 TDI SE will solve my probs and i'll have a car i know i like and am happy with. It'll also give me a chance to get a few bits n bobs to make it look nice - wheels, Cupra/ Cupra R kit and the one i've been offered is the colour i want too - Imperial Blue Metallic
