hi guys, on monday i got my new tyres fitted to the front. i had 205/40/16 bridgestone turanzas on before and ive now got 195/40/16 toyo t1-r's fitted. Tuesday morning i drove to Heathrow and i noticed that when i got to around 50mph in 6th gear i attempted to accelerate to 70mph but my traction control light just kept flashing and wouldnt let me accelerate, they did he same today wen going to work when going 45mph. it has been snowing here and the roads have been salted so not the best conditions.

do any of you guys have any ideas what this could be? im hoping its just the coating on the tyres causing this.

Any help greatly appreciated

cheers matt

They probably aren't bedded in yet as they need to get warm to do this... not the best time of year to get new tyres! :)

u guys have just made my heart start beating again lol i thought that was the case. i didnt want to change my tyres but my tracking had made the inside left pretty much bald!!!!

cheers again

Matt

did you solve this?
got new tyres on today, drove around 15 miles with no problems and now the traction control comes on at around 45mph

Its good you searched man but the answer is in the previous two posts...

Probably due to them needing to bed in and all the wax scrubbing off to expose sticky rubber but the OP also had a tracking problem by the sounds of it.

i read that but thought they were on about the weather for that as i dont see why that would be a problem for the traction control

If your front tyres are smaller than your rears the traction control will ASSUME you have lost traction because the front wheels are turning faster than the rears.

You might get away with swapping the fronts for the rears but my guess is you need equal sized tyres all round.

i was running 40 on the front and 45 on the back and that put the traction control on
switched them around and no problems
considering its only 40 and 45 the difference is HUGE! they are different makes though
