I bought my vRS alloys for £140 without tyres, bought a set of T1-R's for £220. Sorted!

My wheels were cheaper..... I'm only spraying them cos they had been curbed and I'm a picky b***ard. :D Tyres cost me £264. Set of 4 brand spanking new Toyo's. :)

Shush! Sanding out the finer curb marks and filling the others with body filler. Does the job. did it on my dad's on his old Corsa and you couldn't tell where it was. and it didn't fall out or anything. :)

Mine's come up quite nice. Took out some quite nasty looking scuffs on the wheel with P180 paper and then have just wet flatted them with 600, scotched them over and hopefully will be priming them tomorrow and REALLY hope to have them done for weekend so I can get my new tyres! :D

I used this stuff called 'Chemical Metal' to fill the kerb marks when i was doing my wheels. Just like body filler but much stronger, plus it can be polished.

My mate used normal body filler to fill the kerb marks on his rims....when the tyres were fitted it pulled off parts of the filler and looked rubbish :(

When you've finished spraying the wheels leave them atleast for a week to harden, otherwise when the fitter mounts the tyre it'll pull the paint off the rim. This happend in a small place on one of my wheels...and i left them for ages to harden.

'Chemical Metal'

What my mate practically held his Mini together with. Chemical metalled tin cans over huge holes!

Like i say I did my dad's old wheels with filler and they seemed ok. I mean the only way filler is really gonna fall out or crumble is if the area hasn't been rubbed down properly and there's not enough for it to bond to...or if it hasn't been mixed properly. Cos filler obv sets rock hard.

I work in a body shop so am getting my wheels sprayed there. But i did all the filler and stuff at home.

ah right, bake the rims after you've sprayed them if you can....then you can get the tyres on and the wheels on the car fast!!

What colour are you going for? i'm thinking about getting some pinstriping done on mine to make them stand out a bit more:think:

Yerp! That's the idea! :D Basically they'll hopefully be sprayed (not by me cos I'm a metal man, don't do the painting!) either tomorrow or Friday, they will be baked off, left over night and fitted about midday on Saturday so they'll have over night to harden just a bit more. I'm going VW Sportsilver. Basically pretty much what they were. Was looking through the colour chips in work and that stood out because there is a lot of flake in it. So basically it should sparkle nicely in the sun! :D And i wanted to choose a VAG colour. :)
