Realised the other day (after an aquaplaning incident) that 3 of my 4 tyres were down to the legal limit, and the 4th wasn't far behind.
So I costed up the price of 4 new tyres, and for Toyo's they were coming in at around £40 each on Mytyres, plus fitting.
Also had a search on the forums, and whilst checking the local 'croooze' site I spotted a set of 16" BBS's for sale. No pics or anything, but they sounded in good nick, with newish tyres....
Went round and looked at them tonight, they're 16" 2-piece BBS RX2's that were fitted to the Mk4 Golf Cabriolet. They're 4-stud, as the cabriolet is actually a Mk3 platform, with Mk45 panels !!!
Got them home, and checked all the split rim bolts were nice and tight, needed an 8mm spline tool to do it.
Got them fitted in about an hour
Need to get some pics, but they look good. Ideally they could do with a refurb, as the respray isn't fantastic. Black centres with a silver sprayed rim.
