Newbie Lumpy leon with excessive POLLUTION LIGHT.

Hi All

I have a really annoying problem that i wonder if you could help with.

My 01 leon Cupra has a really.... annoying problem.

When cold the car hesitates and kangaroos away, after (what i believe is a fan motor) cuts out the problem goes away, normally within 3-4 minutes from cold. then the car idles lumpily.

Ironically when the excessive pollution light comes on the car starts relatively normally!! however the idle is still lumpy.....

I have taken the car to seat who keep if for 24 hrs cant find anything and return it to me with either the fault reset or having changed anything from

Water temp sensor
Fixed leaking injectors

Do you guys have any idea what is causing this????

sounds like you could do with running vag com on it to see whats happening rather than seat just clearing the codes.

Where are you in the world?

well I live in Toulouse France (ex Pat) I was hoping that Seat France would have a different approach but alas not.

what is a VAG COM anyhow?

vag com is a program that runs on a pc (usually a laptop for convenience) that hooks up to the ecu with an odb cable.

lots of people have it on here but if you don't there is usually someone near by you who has one.

Sounds like a dodgy lambda possibly.
