Well, none of that sounds desperately serious.
Never having heard a cupra R, does it sound any different to the older Cupra (someone at work used to have a 2001 Cupra), and does the newer DV (for the remap) make a diff to this?

Thanks for all the info guys. You know, I think I dreamt I bought a LCR yesterday!

IT MUST BE A SIGN.

The exhaust on the LCR is different and the engine setup is slightly different, so the sound difference is evident for sure. I personally think the LCR is the most tuneful of the 1.8T engined VAG cars, as some of them tend to sound a bit flat.

The DV wont make much difference to the sound. It's a diverter valve and not an atmospheric venting valve so you don't get any real 'whoosh', but the aftermarket valves like the Forge 007P are a little louder (you can hear them dumping air back into the airbox). If you want a atmospheric sounding DV, check out the new Forge Split-R as this is a part-diverter, part-atmospheric valve that dumps enough air back into the system to keep the car happy, but still vents some air out to give the noise people want.
