Newbie What to look for when buying

Hello All. Im new to the forum just wanted to introduce myself and rack your brains. Sorry if I have put this post in the wrong place. Im trading in my alfa 156 2.0ts tiptronic to get a 20vt 2002 ibiza cupra? Please could you let me know what to look for when viewing? Any problems I should brace myself for etc before I take the plunge and part with my hard earned? Seen a few examples one standard one with mods I'm going to view at some point over the weekend.
Any help would be most appreciated. Hopefully speak to you all soon.
