:(

over the last few days i have noticed that the car had no pull for the first 1-2 seconds ish after i change gear, after that it pulls like theres no tomorrow. it wasnt like that when i first got it. it is still reving though.

it is kinda like i have still got my foot on the clutch a little bit.

has anybody got any ideas what could be causing this?

cheers all

Still using the standard dump valve fella? Iv seen this on a golf, and this was down to a knackered standard dump valve, however could also be a boost leak.

Just check all pipes for splits or cracks, maybe keep ur eye out for a d/v to try?

Better still, go to a local VAG specialist if ur not confident with sorting the above.

No worries, sorry if im a bit vague, but it should give you some things to look at, and im pretty sure dump valve might be the culprit.

There are quite a few members your way, so try posting up for a VAGCOM request, where basically they can plug ur car into a laptop and read off any faults.

Yeh should pretty much show anything that is wrong with the car, good starting point really for fault finding!

Not a problem

mine does this and i've changed my DV to a forge 007. Might look under the bonnet at the hoses at the weekend. I'm thinking of just replacing the vacuum hoses with silicone ones soon, shouldn't cost much either. I might have to replace the TIP at the same time as well though :D damn this site will cost me so much money

When I got mine if i was accelerating relatively hard, when I changed gear the power would just die for 2-3 seconds, changed the dump valve for the sake of it and found when I took it off the valve was knackered, incidentally changing it fixed the problem.

If you want to test your valve take it off, push the piston from the bottom then cover the little vacuum nipple at the top and see if the piston drops, mine just sprung straight down and you could hear the air whoosh through the diaphragm.
