I have been told by a SEAT tech' that toe 2ltr PD with a particle filter HAS to use the extended sevice oil to stop the thing "gumming up" this was on a FReetrak , any advise gratefully' etc
Yes mate that is correct the 170bhp 2.0 TDI DPF engines need to use the Longlife engine oil in 5w30 grade and FULLY Synthetic.
I learned this the hard way as the original dealer I bought the car off used PD 5w30 SEMI Synthetic oil for the first two services, leading the the DPF clogging up with a greasy type substance.
The car then needed a new DPF filter and differential pressure sensor. This was all covered under warranty luckily and fixed by another dealer as my original dealer were total muppets
pheew that was Lucky hate to think what it would cost if you were paying what they know and what they do are often 2 different things but at least I know now, thanks
