Very sorry if this has been posted before (or many hundreds of times before).

Need to top up the oil in our LCR.
It was serviced in December at a SEAT dealership inlcuding full oil change, filter swap etc. Consequently I don't want or need a full change (or do I?). Phoned the dealership and they said it was filled with Castrol semi-synthetic 5w-40w.

Not sure this sounds right (semi-synthetic??) . In any case what do you guys all use? I don't want to change it all if I can help it, but I obviously don't wanna mix oils and I want the best for her.

So, any advice, recomendations, or general consensus would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks guys.

Cheers guys. Saw Edge and thought it might be good. Either that or Mobil. Suspect that either way, a full change would be best.

A full change never hurts. In fact, changing oil between services can go a long way to ensuring your car goes on for as long as possible! I know some people who religiously change their oil half way through the service interval. Worth doing, especially if you can DIY!

i use valvoline fully synthetic racing oil in my cupra, what i would suggest is on next service get it done and ask for engine flush and that you want fully synthetic oil as replacement oil.

bit off topic but im going to do a oil change on monday and im not sure about the sump nut washer? can i reuse the washer or do i need to go back and see seat for another? what material are they made from incase i might have some at work?

cheers

I bought some castrol edge should my car ever need topping up! 6,000 miles after the last service and it doesnt look like my LCR has used a drop!
