We have the two cars, one being the Focus RS Mk1 and the Bocanegra. (Shhhh) yep it is still working, and rather well after 9 days:D
Both equally looked after, both have been clayed polished and waxed till you can eat off the paint work. Why does the Bocanegra attract more "I wana have a go against that" drivers than the RS. Went to pick up little un in the RS the other day nothing, drive to work, nothing go shopping on the way home from work through town (Boy racer heaven in the evening) Nothing. Parked down in Windsor at the Home park car park last night out for dinner, home of the crooooozers and car park cowboys. Again nothing. Just a couple of appreciative nods.

Drove Bocanegra today as Mrs had as she referred to it "A bit of a delicate head" 4 times today CTR Mk1, Some turkey in a Fiesta Zetec, Some Clio with bits of plastic pop riveted on to it and finally some crazy woman in a 60 plate 5 door 1.6 Audi A3 trying to slice and dice me on a 2 into one lane coming from Maidenhead after the gym.

Do these cars make a statement of come on then if you think your hard enough? Asked the wife and she said driving the Altea no one gave her a second glance, in this its ridiculous happens at least once a day.

Anyone else have the same experience?

the ibiza is a modern hot hatch and is commonly driven my younger drivers.

The RS i would imagine generally has more intelligent and slightly older drivers. Its also got some respect, it may be that most wont try as its a respected car,(if they even know what it is) meanwhile the ibiza is probably something they think they can spank.

I think Andycupra may have something there, maybe they see the RS and think sod that.

I really did not get the woman in the A3 though I was in my opinion pootling along and she was determined to get around me no matter what, she was driving like she was on a mission from god with her knickers on fire. I just pulled away a bit quicker than her from the police station roundabout, odd very odd, to be sexist probably her time of the month or something!

When i was driving my boc down to drop it off for the refund process some absolute ..... in a yaris tried running me off the road. No joke. Went off of the road to undertake me off of the roundabout that led onto the motorway. I beeped as he sweeped in front of me with a bout 2 ft clearance. He then proceeded to slam the breaks on and pull back behind me, racing up my ass. Got onto the motorway so i slapped my foot down (within the legal speed may i add) just to get away from the *****. A minute later i see him coming behind me flat out until hes right behind me. So i pull in to let him pass, he proceeds to pull in in front of me. I pull out he pulls out. We're swerving back and forth as i'm trying to avoid him crashing the car (the day of all days to have a crash....) Finally he shoots off and at a fair distance i got back into the outer lane he slows down so hes about 10ft infront of me and does an emergency stop??! ****ing idiot!

That is frankly out of order, if you had a pile up he would have whinged and whined that it was your fault probably.

I put it down to this

1. There are so few of the Bocanegra and Cupra's about, come to think of it also the FR and the SC's (No offence people)

2. They do look different from Corsas and the like

3. Curiosity to see how quick they are, so Joe mong decides to give it some "beanz" and see what happens. Me Im happy to let them go and wipe them selves out on a crash barrier somewhere. Please dont include me.

Exactly i couldn't believe it, i'm lucky i didn't go into the back of him let alone someone into the back of me...

Yeah i'd put it down to it being less common than other cars so it's something new to weigh up. Bit of fun here and there is alright but some people don't deserve the license they hold with the way in which they drive.

As you say a bit of fun is good and I never involve others, My thought is test your own skill not other peoples. The twunt in the Clio was ridiculous there is no way some oik in a 1.2 mums skool run and shopping trolley with an airfix kit pop riveted on is going to corner like a Bocanegra, I did think he was going to cream into the barrier in his haste to "beat me" on to the motorway wth his two spotty mates in his car. All because I overtook him on the access road on to the motorway. I let him pass then just went to the middle lane and joined the queue same as him. My daughter did her royal wave at him which I swear made him look at the floor

Back in the RS tomorrow to go to Gun Warf for some thearapy shopping for the missus and a decent lunch. Quiet times hopefully, just dreading the crawl through Hindhead

Haha i swear every other car back where my parents live in SW Wales is a 1.2 corsa or a clio with a bunny ear spoiler gaffa taped to the roof and a baked bin tin superglued to the exhaust tip. All of which try to race you at any given moment. I honestly don't see what they're thinking

That is so true, I do a lot of mountain biking in the Afan valley, and Port Talbot is FULL of cars like that, especially in Tesco's car park. Bean tin exhaust lol!:lol:

They sure are rare cars I’ve seen one other candy white one and an emoticon red one since I’ve got mine in august.

I’m also pretty certain that a lot of people have no idea what edition Ibiza they are let alone knowing that it’s an Ibiza

some nobjockeys need to be shown how fast they are once they know this its job done

however people diving like total tools should given a wide berth

i have to say ive noticed it... i had a tit in a octivia VRS race me other day, i was doing 50-60mph approching a national speed area and he was up my arse, backed off and booted it, so i kicked down a gear and i have to say, the poor sod **** him self when he only just crawled past and i reckon give it another 5 seconds and i would of started gaining on him.

Thing is, you look at something like a RS, Evo etc and know its going to be fast, where as something like a clio sport is fast but not 'Stupidly' fast.

An observation:

People are approaching you from behind and are going faster than you.
Why is this always being taken as racing you.
Is it possible they are just in a rush / going faster than you?
What if you simply move out of the way?

(just playing devils advocate)

I decided to install a bullet cam and mini DV recorder, just incase. Captures all the nutters!

;)

Done that and then they slam on the anchors in front of you causing you to slow and then as you come out again they do the same and the process starts again. I would put down the word that sums them up, how ever I would gain an infraction! :D
