Ouch! Brake repair costs

Why do these things happen before Christmas? My rear brakes were making a noise - so off to the local garage I go. They are usually reliable and efficient. Told me that it was leaking cylinders leaking onto/into the rear drums. I thought that they would be better that KwikCr*p End up with a £200 bill (inc VAT at 15%) for 2x rear cylinders and 2 sets of rear shoes plus 2.5 hours labour. Ouch!

my rear brakes have started binding, gettin them done after christmas, how much did the parts cost for your rear drums cos i have them too

rear shoes = £30 & rear cylinders £53 inc VAT.
Labout was £120 inc VAT for 2.5 hrs (plus 2 light bulbs at a measly £7!)

lol, 120quid for 2.5hours labour, my local (well not local, the one I go to) is only 30 quid an hour. I got 2 CV joints done for 196 quid all in!
