I got mine done in a place up in Lanark Scott. I know its a treck for you, but they had the best colour of gloss graphite i had seen on a display set of old RS4's. Had bits of metallic through it. They were £170 with tyres and a 2 day turn around.

Similar shade to Damo's.

As far as i know, the extra clear coat is for a bit of both. Gives plenty of shine (when clean), and makes the surface a bit thicker.

Used to straighten my Cupra rims x2 :(

.. used and recommended if expensive. Heats to 280-300 C to repair.
To straighten £60 (if on inside you do not need a recoat)
To paint 16”=£30, 17”=£45
No VAT
Use Amtrak as courier… but use private courier themselves.. Post Office cheap but can bash returned goods.
2-3 days to straighten
Parcelforce = £35 for 48hr @ 30kg (on 12/1/09?)

They are slow but know their stuff on repairing rims correctly (well as good as you can). They did a rough blow over job on my rims so no comment on their paint quality.

Powder coating is reputed to be best .. certainly ordinary car paint spraying fails pretty quickly (18 months maybe if lucky) even though that is what they seem to use from the factory.

Scott - the guys at Carrick are definately worth going to!

Think im going to use this place aswell after scotts phone call :lol:

Is it worth doing in the winter though? Might be a daft question but can all the grit n salt from the road not wreck the powder coating or would it be fine?

Gonna be winter next year lol! Got mine done last October just buy some decent wheel cleaner (not the abrasive stuff) sealant and keep em clean mine have already got a few chips but that gonna happen unless you drive at 10mph all the time! Not curbed my wheel yet though but I hardly ever have to park in the road!

Was gonna wait but think ill do this after my car gets mapped then, i have Carplan Wonder Wheels would it be a bad idea to use it on them once there powder coated?

I only use the stuff advertised as being non abrasive, I use bilberry wheel cleaner bought from http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ bought one bottle and diluted it in a sprayer as much as I want dependant on the time of year. Smells well nice cleans really well and not acidic. Best to have a look what the pros use alot of the professional stuff you have to buy on-line but then I am well into detailing my car so buy other bits too.
