im wantin to fit a panel air filter (as i cant afford proper induction at the moment :( )

im not expecting any performance gains, i dont want the noise of the car to change dramatically, i just want a bit more air flow from a decent manufacturer, can anyone advise the best one to go for?

i dont want the pipercross one and iv never been keen on K&N but im having trouble finding anything which isnt a pipercross or K&N for the 1.8t.

i looked on
http://www.green-filter.co.uk/index.php?manufacturers_id=59&cat_id=1089
and they dont appear to do one for the 1.8t?

if another filter fits which isnt designed for my car can i use it safely?!

any input will be appreciated. thanks

there isnt a more reliable air sourse than this for the 180 cupra

modding the inlet pipe helps get more airflow too btw :)

thanks for the comments on mine only more to come for the beast more traction mods

1.tyres
2.limited slip diff
3.rear engine mount (mine is fooked from engine movement)

to think i was never going to mod this car was funny

green filter ordered and on its way:D

i'll have a search on the inlet pipe, see if its something i want to do at the moment.

i said the exact same thing when i got mine but seeing peoples on this has gave me the urge to improve the car! ive got a long way to go (and a lot of money to spend!) b4 i get mine anywhere near the standard of yours but heres hoping one day it will be!

thanks for the help

read up on the PD160 intake. sounds like a decent mod but saving for forge splitter valve so might do it later. Couple more questions though (i know im a pain in the 'backside' sorry)

1. what car is the PD160 designed for?

2. when fitted with green filter it was recomended that the ecu was reset. is it necessary for me to reset the ecu if i just replace the standard filter and dont upgrade the intake?

no the ecu wont need updating you already have the pd160 air intake as its the same on both cupras its the inlet pipe that scoops the air up at the front of the engine bay in the front pannel ive modifyed this to make the airflow three times as much!

mine isnt as modded as it looks  its no where near fast enough and i still need to do something suttle to the rear end bodywork wise (not chavey)

id get the forge split-R valve then it would be an exhaust oh yeah btw ive got a miltek 2.5" sports 100cell cat downpipe worth £280 new for sale if your interested its only been used for 2months but bigger turbo forced sale

oh right cheers that explains everything that was confusing me (its not hard right enough!).

i read about your modding, im not sure if i've got the baws to start cutting up my car! had to cut the engine cover the other day to get the strut to fit and it just felt wrong taking a saw to my pride and joy!

what you have done looks sweet! iv thought about getting those reflective bits on my bumper either removed or smoothed over or watever it takes to get rid of them! if i was smoothing that i might consider debadging but at the same time im quite attached to my cupra badge!

is the split R different from the splitter? here:

^^^^^ na its just me being type lazy theyre the same thing! ^^^^^

problem with smoothing is it is most likely 95% chance its just going to crack as plasic is flexible and filler isnt if you cleaning it or it flexes for what ever reason you will be repairing and painting it every 5 mins! ad lav (anouther member) has bought a rear cupra bumper and is in the process of smoothing the reflectors so we'l see

i do belive dario has smoothed his rear bumper on his black beezer try a search might make you change your mind but to be honest when he posted up the pics i didnt look any diffrent reallY!

will do coz im really interested in doing this but wld be gd to see what it will look like. at the same time though i wouldnt want that kind of hassle if its gonna crack all the time. cant think of anythin else id want to do to the back of the car, its pretty tidy as it is (apart from the daft reflectors!)

btw cant afford your exhaust at the moment, might be interested in a few months time though!

i'll give you a shout on the milltek if i can get my hands on some cash but i doubt it will happen anytime soon got a lot on over the summer.

that sounds like a pretty good idea, would take the edge of them n make them a bit more subtle. id rather have them off, i dont really want to change the styling of the car that much but id love to get it smoothed out. might go a drive at the weekend theres a decent coachworks uphere n they do a lot of custom work, they might have some ideas.
