Argh!!!!!!!! You can plug the entire world into the back of this thing! Theres even a kettle expansion port and george foreman uplink cable! :D

Gonna be a fun day figuring this out..

i think it look worse than it really is........ thank god for manuals !!!;)

Right.. Well I've got it kinda hooked up, but can't get the steering controls working! Is the blue connector in the quad lock for the steering controls? If so theres no way for me to plug that into the headunit.. :(

Hmm.. Seems like none of the steering controls work! The phone is picked up by the bluetooth unit and connects but I can't browse the phone book on the dash.. I'm wondering if I've got a dodgy canbus adapter..

Cant help you on that one - but I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon.

If I unplug the adapter from the wiring loom, the phone controls work perfectly but the headunit doesn't turn on. If I plug it back in, the headunit works and no controls work..

Figured out the blue connector on the quad lock is for the aux input so don't need them. Got everything else working, just need an adapter for the aerial adapter. Sat nav works great, CDs/DVDs work. Going to rig up the bluetooth wires to the K200 tomorrow in work. Does the telemute wire from the wiring loom remove from the quad lock and go into the K200?

Hmm.. Turns out I need the PC910-ALP stalk adapter to plug into the canbus adapter now. Grr!

Although the bluetooth buttons should still work without this on shouldn't they?

Don't suppose you've got the model of that phonocar one? Might send this Autoleads one back and get the other one.. Its driving me mad!

I have a link in one of my previous posts in this thread. :)

If that doesn't work, I'll take a look at its box late tonight when I get home, and if that fails too, I'm sure a phone to my installer Monday morning will do the trick.

Ah ta.. Missed that link!

Got it ordered, will try it all out when I get it. Am happy with the rest of it, just need the bluetooth and steering controls working. Its a very nice unit, the sat nav is great! :)

Got the new canbus adapter fitted and everything worked straight away! Was cheaper than the other one I ordered too! Grr! Least its sorted now..

Just need to get around to rigging up the bluetooth.. It gets an interrupt signal when the phone rings but can't get the audio through yet.

Hi all,

I've just bought a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD and wanted to swap out my OEM HU.

So i managed to get the OEM HU out using the DVD case trick and then i realised that the plugs are different than that of my golf!

I have ordered a steering wheel stalk remote form Connects2 CTS0001 or something like that. I've also ordered an aerial adapter and a facia from David at Seremotors.

Is there anything else i will need as im getting fed up with being given the wrong info by so called in car entertainment shops!!

Cheers[:@]

Did you also pickup the Pioneer specific lead from Connects2 adapter to you Pioneer dvd-player?

Last weekend I installed my Alpine unit with the same canbus adapter and everything went without problems. Im still missing the Alpine ai-net input box for bluetooth but it should be coming at some point. Only problem was installing the VW 1-din cd-player facia/adapter to the Seat navifacia. I had to heat the bottom plastics to make room for it to fit.

The Stalk lead i've ordered comes with the CANBUS adapter so no other leads required on that front.

What i want to know is how you secured your unit because all i can is that it will fit into the facia and has nothing to clamp to on either side.

My head unit comes with a cage and brackets but the brackets will still not make it wide enough to attach.

This is getting so flippin frustrating

Dave, i understand your frustrations , the head unit slides into the new facia surround , and is quite stable in there , the new head unit surround should come with some yellow clips , these hold it all in place very rigid.
The parts you will need will be :
new areial adaptor
can bus adaptor
head unit specific adaptor to mate up with your sterring controls and thats it.
so as long as you have all those bits you will be fine.
the hardest thing you will have is putting all the leads out of the way when putting the radio in.
if you need any help just ask away mate.

Hello Rob,

I dont have any yellow clips with mine mate. All i have is the cage and two removable brackets that screw in to the side of the head unit.

Also i've got the CTSS001 and aerial adapter. Ive been told that is a canbus adapter with the stalk controls in one.

I'm going to link the handbrake wire to the ground which i think will work.

Cheers

Leon
