passenger side elec window

alrite every1 my passenger side winsdow has stopped working it was dodgy when i got the car and so was the drivers but ive cleaned the contacts on the drivers 1.... was just wondering if the drivers and passenger windows are on different fuses?? as the passenger 1 doesnt work at all using drivers switch or passenger switch

is could be the window mech has given up the ghost.. mine did a while ago and it is around £100 to get a whole new window mech

it was working 1 min then completley stopped.... just want to know what fuses to check really or if the drivers 1 works then should the pass 1?

i think they are the same fuse, do you get a very faint click from the passenger side when you go to put the window down from the drivers side?

mines been like this for months occasionly it will work, then it wont go back up, when i turn the engine off and back on it goes back up?? could be a simalar problem

i used it used to move a little bit when it wanted to but has completley stopped working

take drivers side switch and try in on the passanger side... if this does not work take the door card off and see if a cable has snapped.

yea, but what im saying is, remove the switch from the drivers side, and plug it in to the passanger side wiring loom, it will eliminate 1 part of the system.. to me it does sound like the mech has gone....

put your ear against the door card just above the storage bit.... then activate the window switch and if you hear a faint click or clunk from within the door but no movement then that means you will either need a new mech or cable is broken.


another thing to look for is take the door card off and see if you have plastic or metal clips that hold the window in place, if they are plastic the 'pull' side probably has broken and you want to replace both clips with metal ones.

Mine is the switch.

From the drivers side the passenger window is intermittent but using the pass side switch it's spot on so try that. Take fuse out, swap the switches on the drivers side and see it eht drivers switch works the passenger window. If it does - new switch!!

Mine didn't work either.

When you try to put the window down with the switch you will hear a click if the regulator doesn't work. If you don't hear anything it's most likely your switches. If you do hear alot, it's your cable

Regulator is pretty easy to change. Don't have to take out the glass or even lower it. Just take off the bolts that hold the regulator to the door and the ones behind that hold it to the guides, remove the cable reel, take out the regulator, put the new one in, put the reel back in making sure the cable hasn't dislodged, put all the bolts back in and hey presto!

My advice would be to take a picture with your phone of the back of the regulator when it's in to find out where all the bolts are because it's quite difficult to see yourself!! Then feel around for them when taking them off.

My passenger side window isnt working
However the light would on the clip still turns on off, when presses from the d/s switches

Does this mean i need a new window regulator ?
It went down half way last night, then when my gf closed the door it shot back up again !!

any help at all appreciated
